At Culture Lab LIC, we believe that showcasing new work is essential to keeping the creative heartbeat of New York City alive and thriving. Innovation and risk-taking are at the core of artistic growth, and we are dedicated to providing a platform where artists can experiment, collaborate, and bring bold ideas to life.
With this in mind, we actively seek to partner with theater, dance, poetry, and film companies to support both developmental workshops and fully realized productions. By doing so, we not only highlight the diversity of disciplines within the arts but also ensure that artists and audiences alike experience the richness of fresh perspectives and new voices.
This serves as the first step in the process: it allows us to learn about your project and, if selected, enables our team to effectively promote, support, and communicate your work across our staff and platforms. We want every project we present to have the tools and visibility it deserves to succeed.
Please note that if selected you will be asked for the following:
- Artists are expected to provide their own technicians (lighting design, set, board op)
- Artists and their teams are responsible for restoring the space (put back chairs, take out trash, mop if spilled drinks, etc.)
- A security deposit will be requested and the amount determined by the size of the audience, length of the run, and artists' access to the space. This is returned at the end of the Artists show. (range from $300 - $2,000.00)
- A one-time nonrefundable admin fee of $100 is made as a deposit to CL to hold the space.
- Artists using the theater may use CLLIC's Qlab and can refocus / move lights for a fee of $500.
- Artists using the L Stage should know that lightning is: 3 spots and "on and off" capabilities. Artists will be responsible for follow spot operator if they desire follow spots.
- CL runs the box office and manages ticket sales.
- Artists set the ticket rate.
- Selected shows are added to the CL calendar and website and promoted across social media and media outlets.
