  • Mission Statement

    Pullman Public Schools strives to ensure that each and every student achieve their full potential. In pursuit of this mission, the District is working to form the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Task Force with the goal of improving cultural awareness, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The task force will work to identify and recommend areas for improvement related to DEIB strategies district-wide to the Board of Pullman Public Schools.

  • The Pullman School District board is seeking volunteers to fill the open positions on the DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) Task Force. Volunteers will provide input and take on specific assignments related to DEIB. The Task Force will address DEIB issues relevant to the district and its schools and will submit their findings and recommendations to the superintendent and/or board, following Policy and Procedure 4110.

    Ideally, individuals will possess the following skills and characteristics:

    • Collaborative: Team members having the ability to exercise empathy and build strong trust and communication among diverse identities.
    • Self-Reflective:  Ability to address one’s own personal prejudices/biases and participate in discussion regarding DEIB topics.
    • Ability to Listen to Other Perspectives and Opinions:  Ability to listen deeply and reflectively. Work together and promote trust and camaraderie.
    • Commitment:  Willingness to volunteer time and attend scheduled Task Force Meetings.

    Open Positions:

    • (2) PHS Student Positions (open to all students in grades 9-12)
    • The DEIB Task Force has identified disability awareness, accessibility, and inclusion as a key area of opportunity within the district. To support this focus, the Task Force is adding a new member to the DEIB Task Force with expertise and/or experience in this area.

  • The Pullman School District Board of Directors will discuss and appoint committee members in an open public meeting on Wednesday, September 24. Committee members will be notified after the Regular Board Meeting on Wednesday, September 24.
