    HUMAN SERVICES GRANT

    The Town of Provincetown reviews funding requests from Human Services agencies serving Town residents. Human Services grant funds will be allocated to support the overall operations of 501(c)(3) agencies providing services to residents, particularly those of low-moderate income and those who are uninsured or underinsured. Funding will be targeted toward agencies which address one or more of the following needs:

    • Mental Health Services
    • Substance Abuse Services
    • Services for Children, Teens, Families-at-Risk, Older Adults
    • Domestic Violence Services
    • Legal Services
    • Services Addressing Housing and Hunger
    • HIV and Chronic Car Services
    • Services for People with Disabilities
    • Services for Minoritized Communities

    APPLICATIONS FOR FY 2026 (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026) GRANTS ARE NOW CLOSED. 

    GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR FY 2027 (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027) WILL BE AVAILABLE IN OCTOBER 2025.

    COMMUNITY PRESERVATION ACT (CPA) GRANT

    The Community Preservation Act (the "CPA" MGL C.44B) was enacted by state legislators allowing any town in the Commonwealth to adopt a property tax surcharge of up to 3%, the revenues from which, along with any matching state funds, could be directed to open space and recreation, community housing, and historic preservation. The Town of Provincetown designates 60% for community housing, 10% for historic preservation, 10% for open space/recreation, and 20% remaining undesignated and available for any category.


    Application Cycle: 

    APPLICATIONS FOR FY 2026 (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026) ARE CLOSED.

    FY 2027 (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027) CPA GRANT APPLICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN OCTOBER 2025. 

    FY 2027 CPA grant applications will be due Monday, December 29, 2025, and are subject to final approval at the April 2026 Town Meeting.

    TOURISM FUND GRANT

    The Visitor Services Board (VSB) offers two types of grants through the Tourism Fund Grant Program: 


    Event Marketing Grants - Funding to support marketing events that bring new visitors to Town and promote repeat visitation.


    Matching Marketing Grants – Funding to support marketing through advertising and/or the creation and production of other forms of marketing to enhance year-round tourism.

     

    Funding must be used for marketing and public relations efforts only.


    Priority areas for funding include:

    Events during the shoulder season: To increase visitation and encourage businesses to open earlier in the season and/or stay open in the fall and winter months (January, February, March, April, May, October, November, and December).


    New Events (Events produced for up to 5 years are considered new).
    Funding is seed money to help establish your marketing strategies for a successful event.
     
    Established Events (more than 5 years) with a demonstrated marketing plan to improve Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) attendance at the event.


    A demonstrated effort to partner and collaborate with local businesses to increase the economic impact of the Town.

     

    Application cycle: FY 2027 (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027)

    Applications Open October 1, 2025, and close on December 1, 2025.

    PROVINCETOWN CULTURAL COUNCIL GRANTS

    One of the largest Cultural Districts in the commonwealth, the Provincetown Cultural Council seeks to fund organizations and individuals that amplify the cultural activities of the district and educate the public about the many cultural offerings of the Provincetown community. We seek to fund organizations and individuals in all art forms, including, but not limited to, the visual arts, music, dance, theater, education, and the sciences.

     

    Council Policies: Requirements for grant consideration

    • The activity/event must occur in Provincetown.
    • The cultural activity enriches the quality of life and the well-being of Provincetown individuals and organizations.
    • Provincetown residency is not required of the applicant as long as the activity/event occurs in Provincetown.
    • The application must be received before the deadline. 

    Council Priorities: The cultural activity must meet two or more of the following funding priorities:

    • Support local cultural activities that encourage shoulder season and winter season interest
    • Promote racial equity and encourage diversity
    • Highlight Provincetown’s unique cultural and natural resources
    • The Council prefers projects that are defined in scope and as specific as possible.

     

    Grants open on September 2, 2025, and close on October 16, 2025.

    DISTRICT CULTURAL GRANTS:

    The application for the FY26  (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026) Provincetown Cultural District grant is now closed. 

    The application for FY27  (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027) will open June of 2026.

    ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT GRANT

    The Provincetown Economic Development Committee (EDC) wants to help your local business. EDC Grants help start, support, and sustain year-round business and economic opportunities in town.


    Eligible criteria include:

    New initiatives or programs.
    Existing year-round business support.
    Activities or events that extend Provincetown's economy beyond the traditional summer tourism season.
