    About MAAME, Inc.

MAAME is a community-based maternal health organization closing the gap between the care North Carolina families receive and the care they deserve. We provide community-based doula care, lactation support, perinatal mental health resources, and mutual aid programs to improve outcomes across North Carolina.

About the Independent Contractor Doula Role

    Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
Contract Term: 1 year with renewal, when engaged

MAAME's network of community-based birth workers includes independent contractors who are engaged as referral volume and organizational capacity allow. Being added to the network does not guarantee a minimum number of referrals, ongoing work, or a set start date. Contractors determine their own methods and schedule for delivering services and may accept or decline referrals based on their availability. Contractors may also provide services to other clients or agencies at any time.
