This workshop is created for K-12 students and highly recommended for Grades 3, 6, and 9.
Teacher participation is required, and parents are warmly encouraged to be part of the experience as well!
In this two-part workshop, students will be introduced to their personalized avatars created by the DEEP Coalition—a global movement dedicated to mental health, voice development, and thought leadership.
Using their avatars, students will develop a storyboard presentation titled “The Story of My Name.” This project is designed to help students activate and express their unique voices. They’ll begin by exploring the meaning and personal significance of their names, then move into creative writing activities that support self-discovery and identity development. The experience concludes with a classroom presentation, giving students the chance to share their stories and inspire connection with their peers.
This experience supports well-being, self-expression, and creativity. We believe that when children feel seen, heard, and valued, they are better prepared to thrive—in school, in their communities, and in life.
A teacher should be present (or close by) during the session to provide support with writing or technology if needed.
Before class, the instructor will email a request for a recent waist-up photo of each student. This will be used to create their personalized avatar. A simple smartphone photo or school portrait works perfectly!
