I acknowledge that this is an application only and does not guarantee approval or placement. I further understand that August’s Angels Home may conduct reference checks, background checks (criminal history), veterinary record checks, landlord verification (if applicable), and/or a home visit as part of the application review process. These steps are taken to ensure the safety, well-being, and proper placement of the dog.

By completing and signing this statement, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. I am financially prepared to provide food and basic supplies for the foster dog (the rescue may assist if needed; I will ask about support options).
2. In any emergency or behavioral concern, I will immediately contact August Angel’s Home and follow their guidance.
3. I understand that all veterinary care must be pre-approved by the rescue, except in a true life-threatening emergency where delay would cause unnecessary suffering.
4. I will provide proper food, fresh water, safe indoor shelter, and daily exercise/enrichment appropriate for a Doberman/large working breed.
5. I will use humane, positive training methods, follow the rescue’s decompression plan, and use crate/secure confinement when unsupervised until advised otherwise.
6. I will supervise interactions between the dog and children, visitors, or other animals, and I will take special precautions with cats, livestock, and small pets due to prey drive.
7. I will follow slow, structured introductions to resident animals and avoid dog parks/off-leash areas without rescue approval.
8. I will comply with all local laws regarding licensing, identification, and leash requirements, and keep ID/microchip information current (with rescue co-registration as applicable).
9. I will communicate promptly with the rescue, provide updates/photos upon request, make the dog reasonably available for meet-and-greets, and help coordinate transport for vet care and meetings with advance notice.
10. I will not allow this dog to breed. I understand the dog remains the property of August Angel’s Home; I will not rehome, sell, or give the dog to another party and will return the dog upon request (e.g., adoption, safety, or transfer).
11. I agree that I will not authorize euthanasia for this dog without the prior written consent of August Angel’s Home, except in a true medical emergency where delaying euthanasia would cause unnecessary suffering.
12. If the dog appears unsafe in my home or I cannot continue fostering, I will notify the rescue immediately and follow the transition plan they provide.
