Adoption Fees (effective February 1, 2025)

• Puppies & adult dogs: $500 • Cats & kittens: $150 (unless otherwise noted)

Please note: Adoption fees are final and nonrefundable. We do not issue cash refunds or charge credits for animals returned after adoption. Please consider your decision carefully and thoroughly.

To be considered for adoption you must at least 21 years old, have knowledge and consent of all adults living in your household. Have a valid government issued photo ID. Have landlords’ consent (if renting) to bring an animal onto the property. Understand that L.A.R. reserves the right to refuse any adoption application for any reason.

Potential adopters who already have a companion animal or who have had a companion animal must consent to allow a L.A.R. representative to perform a check with your current veterinarian clinic. This is usually done via a phone call to the clinic. We will be checking to ensure that your current animal(s) is up to date on all vaccines and heart worm preventative.

Current pets must be spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventions.

All animals will receive age-appropriate vaccinations, necessary medical treatment, and spay/neuter surgery (if old enough) before going to their forever homes. For animals too young to undergo spay/neuter at the time of adoption, our contract requires that the procedure be completed between four and six months of age. This requirement is non-negotiable as it is vital to preventing unwanted litters and supporting responsible pet ownership. The surgery cost will be covered by the rescue and must be performed by one of our approved veterinarians

The adoption fee is nonrefundable because adoption is a big decision, and animals are forever.

Ownership Agreement - As the new owner, you agree to take full responsibility for the care and wellbeing of this pet for its lifetime. Once the adoption is finalized you will be responsible for all medical bills and decisions.

- By clicking the submit button, I understand there is an adoption donation associated with adoption of a pet and that it is tax deductible according to IRS 501(c)3 guidelines. I understand this donation will ensure the organization is equipped to rescue another homeless pet.
- By clicking the submit button, I understand there is no "cooling off" period, and that if I no longer want or can no longer care for my adopted pet, I agree to notify Rescue Center. BY EMAIL and provide a 14 day period to allow Rescue Center to make arrangents for my pet to be taken back into rescue.
- By clicking the submit button, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the rescue center against any losses, lawsuits, claims, injury, damages incurred by me or to any persons or property by my adopted pet, once adoption has been completed.
- By clicking the submit button, I understand that Rescue Center will disclose any of the pet's health or behavior issues known by the above named rescue group before adoption is completed.
- By clicking the submit button, I understand that if I no longer want my pet, or am no longer able to care for my adopted pet, I will be directed to surrender my pet to Rescue Center and provide transport to where Rescue Center deems appropriate.
