    Paint-Out with $50 Honorarium for Volunteers

  • Paint-Outs are open to all OPM members and their guests. Participants are not required to register, but it's helpful so we can communicate any last minute changes to locations or weather cancellations. Participants may arrive any time during the duration of the paint-out, but keep in mind that painters will migrate to painting locations once the paint-out begins.

    Date: Saturday, October 11, 2025

    Location: Bloomington Visitor Center of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge

    • 3815 American Blvd E, Bloomington, MN 55425

    Supervised Activity Time: 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm Guided Paint-Out (or paint-in)

    Open Hours for Painters: 10:00am – 4:00pm

    • 90-minute Guided Paint-Out activity starts at 1:00pm and requires three (3) volunteers to supervise visitors' painting activity in the main floor classroom or, weather permitting, outside on the patio overlook. Volunteers receive a $50 cash honorarium. Sign-up is first come, first served.
    • Painters are invited generally to paint all day in the wildlife refuge or indoors along the windows facing the Minnesota River.
    • Restrooms are inside the visitor center. Open hours are 10am–4pm.
