All captainship duties will officially start at the beginning of the outdoor season in May and end upon the conclusion of the outdoor season; through August. If you are not able to attend club practices in May due to your HS season not being over, please communicate that and we will start tracking attendance at your first official practice. There will be a 1-2 captains meetings before the season begins in order to meet each other, chat about the roles and responsibilities, and make sure everyone feels comfortable going into the season!

Captains are the face of the program and representatives of their teammates, therefore they must present themselves as respectful, inclusive, and optimistic individuals. With that, loyalty and commitment are core Flyer values, and captains shall embody these characteristics as our goal is to strengthen our community and the relationships within it. By completing this application, you are preliminarily agreeing to uphold our program values and requirements, and understand the terms above.

Please note that not only do our captains act as liaisons and leaders for their teammates, but our coaches rely on their attendance and presence. Little things like being timely, consistent, and helpful go a long way as we have a big program and a lot of ground to cover!

Some benefits of being a captain include boosting college resumes/college applications, earning volunteer hours for community service credits, and acting as a Junior Board of Director member for a non-profit organization, which goes into your work history.

Any conduct unbecoming of a Minnesota Flyer athlete assuming the Captain/Junior Board of Director position, including the guidelines set forth in the Athlete Code of Conduct, will be grounds for dismissal as a Junior Director and/or Captain.

Thank you for your interest and filling out our application!
