Submission Guidelines for Authors
What to Submit
Short Story: Your story must be fully written, edited, and finalized before the deadline. If you need editing support, let us know—we can connect you with Zoe, our partnered editor.
Bio and Headshot/Logo: Please include a short author bio and a professional headshot or logo by the submission deadline.
Acknowledgments: Optional. If you’d like to thank anyone, submit your acknowledgments by the deadline.
Story Content
The stories for this anthology must be BIPOC-focused. Although BIPOC authors are not required to write a piece, the piece must have BIPOC representation at the front. BIPOC authors are highly welcomed and desired. Spicy and NSFW content is considered for this anthology.
Sensitivity readers are also highly encouraged for your pieces. If you need help with sensitivity readers, please feel free to ask in our Discord or connect with Olympus & Co specifically. If you do not already have any, you can also easily find them by shouting out in threads or other social media platforms.
Collaboration
If you want to work with an artist, indicate this on your submission form. We’ll help connect you with interested artists.
What You Need to Know About Your Submission
Donation: All stories in the anthology are considered donations; you will not receive royalties. 100% of anthology proceeds go to charity.
Rights: You retain full rights to your work and can publish it elsewhere at any time. Olympus & Co. LLC only holds copyright to the anthology as a collection, not your individual story.
No Royalties: Neither authors nor artists are paid royalties from anthology sales.
Ordering & Selling Copies
Ordering: You may order print copies for personal use or events at cost (plus shipping and taxes). Use the order form in the shared drive to place orders.
Selling at Events: To sell copies at events, you must send the net proceeds (after printing costs and taxes) to Olympus & Co. LLC within 14 days. Payments can be made via PayPal (Authorkmwoods@olympusnco.com) or Venmo (@olympusnco). In addition you can buy copies at the full on sale amount from Olympus & Co and the proceeds will be donated immediately and you will keep the amount sold at events.
Leftover Copies: Donation amounts are only due for books sold at the event. If you sell remaining copies later, submit the donation for those sales at that time, or you can return the leftover copies to Olympus & Co LLC to hold as website stock.
Necessary: Selling personal copies for profit or failing to provide accurate donation information will result in losing print-cost ordering privileges.
Your Costs
Editing: We are not a traditional publisher, so we do not have an in-house editor. All services covered for anthologies are donated services, and an editor is omitted. That said, you are responsible for editing costs related to your story. If you need an editor, we can connect you with a partnered one, but her services are not donated to these projects.
Shipping & Taxes: You pay these for any copies you order.
No Publishing Fees: Olympus & Co. LLC covers all other publication expenses (cover design, formatting, publication).
Additional Policies
All participants must follow our AI and Non-Discrimination Policy, which can be found on our website. Any violation will result in immediate removal from the anthology, even if your story has already been published.
If you have any questions or need clarification on these requirements, please contact Olympus & Co. LLC before submitting.
