Please fill in the form below if you are interested in playing in the team from Oxfordshire, competing against teams from Reading, Maidenhead, Uxbridge, and Watford. Each team member will play two ECF-rated classical time control matches against players from other teams to gain points for their team.
We aim to field a team of 12 junior (under 18) players with a wide range of abilities, from those relatively new to long time controls, to strong tournament players. If your child was a reserve player in the previous tournament then we will try to make space for them in the team this time.
Date and time
Saturday 20th September 2025 1pm - 5pm.
(Please arrive by 12.45pm for a 1pm start)
Location
Cox Green Community Centre, 51 Highlands Lane, Cox Green, Maidenhead SL6 3AX.
If travelling by car, turn into Cox Green School, then right to the Community Centre Car Park.
If using public transport, it is roughly 1 hour by train from Oxford to Maidenhead (or shorter from Didcot), followed by a short bus ride or 45 minute walk.
Match details
Two rounds.
All moves in 50 minutes with 10 seconds increments from move 1.
Games will be ECF Standard Play rated.
Players must have ECF Junior Gold membership. If you don't have an ECF membership, one can be obtained from https://www.englishchess.org.uk/ecf-membership-rates-and-joining-details/
All players must be under the age of 18 on 31st August 2025.
There is nothing to pay to participate in the team.

There are spaces available for parents waiting and for children between rounds.
Facilities for making tea and coffee are available.
You may wish to bring something to eat and drink.
