    Beneficial Ownership (BO) Declaration

    The Companies Commission now requires all registered South African companies and close corporations, regardless of their size or type, to submit a Beneficial Ownership declaration. This includes all external, non-profit, private, and public companies. Any individual who holds more than 5% beneficial ownership in an entity must be declared, along with all supporting documentation. Failure to comply with this requirement can result in administrative penalties.
