    Call for EOI to fill positions
  • Wanting to be part of the Gymnastics Victoria Volunteer Technical Committees is a great way to be involved in your sport.

    If you would like to make a difference and contribute to Gymnastics in Victoria please consider submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) for a position on one of the following gymsport technical committees and available positions (as listed below) 

    Prior to submitting EOI for positions please note the following:

    • The current Operational Committees Charter is available to be viewed HERE.
    • When making an EOI you will be required to provide an endorsement letter from a follow Technical Member from the relevant GymSport.
  • 2026 Casual Vacancy Position - Expression of Interest

    Closing Date of EOI: 16 APR 2026 @11.45pm

    All Casual Vacancy positions that are filled in 2026 will have a term of 1 year. Meaning the positions will then be open again for applications and election for the balance of the original term at the 2027 TC AGM.

    Current/orginal Term Dates:
    Technical Director: 2026–2029

    Minute, Judge, Liaison, HP, GFA TeamGym, GFA General Member 1,2: 2026–2028.

    Coach, events, projects, inclusion, GFA Gymstar, GFA Performance, GFA General Member 2,4: 2025–2027 and then 2027-2029.

  • TC Position Casual Positions will run for 1 year and will be up for election at 2027 at the TC AGM: Individuals elected in 2027 will serve out the balance of the term of that position: current terms for positions are:

  • Position Descriptions

    The position descriptions listed below represent the minimum set of responsibilities associated with key TC roles. The TC may add to, but not reduce, these responsibilities.
  • TECHNICAL DIRECTOR (VOLUNTEER)

    Chairperson and convenor of the TC.
    In consultation with GV Office be responsible for:
    • Reporting on the TC Operational Plan
    • Writing a report for the GV Annual Report
    • Implementation of technical matters
    • Interpretation of competition rules and technical regulations
    • Chairing all meetings regarding State Team selection of athletes and assisting with selection procedures for team managers, coaches, judges, and other team members as required.
    • Liaising between the GV Office and the TC on all matters and decisions
    • Being fair and open minded on all matters that are before the TC.
    • Implementing the GV Declarations of Interest and Vested Interest Policy.
    • Representing Victoria, or arranging for others to represent Victoria, at all necessary meetings of a technical nature at national competitions or advisory meetings. Distributing information from these meetings to the sport program community in Victoria.
    • Liaising with the Gymsport National Sports Commission.

  • COACHING COORDINATOR (VOLUNTEER)

    Must be a qualified coach.
    In consultation with GV Office, be responsible for:
    • Assisting in the selection of State Team athletes and ratification of coaches
    • Understand and advise on the State and National Technical Requirements and updates
    • Assisting in the development of pathways to attract and retain quality coaches
    • Liaising with the GV Education Department to recommend and assist in scheduling and organising suitable updating workshops and seminars for coaches
    • Provide reports to the Technical Committee as required
    • Keep records of activity of the role for the year to assist the TD with the annual report and award recognition, and also to assist in succession planning

  • JUDGING COORDINATOR (VOLUNTEER)

    Must be a qualified National Level judge.
    Must judge at Victorian events.
    In consultation with GV Office, be responsible for:
    • Understand and advise on the State and National Technical Requirements and updates
    • Advise GV Education staff on required education, updating workshops and seminars for Judges
    • Assist in developing pathways and incentives to attract and retain quality judges.
    • Liaising with GV to produce judging panels for Gymnastics Victoria competitions.

    • Provide reports to the Technical Committee as required

    • Assisting clubs if requested/required to help facilitate judging panels for invitational events (This is to be determined by each TC)

     

  • EVENT COORDINATOR (VOLUNTEER)

    The primary purpose of this position is to ensure clear, direct and regular communication between the GV Events Team and the TC.
    In consultation with GV Office, be responsible for:
    • Ensuring all state competitions, invitational events, and sanctioned events processes and procedures are conducted according to the rules and regulations of the sport
    • Assisting clubs as required to help facilitate invitational events.

    • Provide reports to the Technical Committee as required.
    • Liaising with the GV Events department to finalise work orders.

     

  • MINUTES SECRETARY (VOLUNTEER)

    In consultation with GV Office, be responsible for:
    • Consulting with the Chair to produce the agenda for each meeting. The Chair must approve the agenda before being sent to the Committee.
    • Distributing the agenda a minimum of 5 days prior to the meeting
    • Taking minutes of all TC meetings
    • Distributing the draft minutes within 7 days of the meeting after approval from the Chair
    • Disseminating information to TC members as required
    • Replying to all correspondence as directed by the TD and TC
    • Taking minutes at the sport AGM

     

  • GENERAL MEMBER - PARTICIPATION AND INCLUSION COORDINATOR (VOLUNTEER)

    In consultation with GV Office, be responsible for:

    · Liaising with GV Inclusion Staff member to ensure the sport provides an inclusive pathway for all participants.

    · Ensuring all TC decisions and discussions are inclusive of all communities.

    · Along with Club and Regional Liaison, assisting GV to understand the participation trends of the sport and provide advice for support materials to help clubs and schools deliver the sport

    Assist GV in understanding any limiting factors to participation in their gymsport to enable GV to minimise barriers and assist with the growth of the sport

  • GENERAL MEMBER - CLUB AND REGIONAL LIAISON (VOLUNTEER)

    In consultation with GV Office, be responsible for:
    • Assisting GV with advice to clubs in the implementation of the gym sport
    • Assisting Regional Committees and clubs if required to help grow the sport in regional areas
    • Along with Participation and Inclusion Coordinator, assist GV to understand the participation trends of the sport and to provide advice for support materials to help clubs and schools deliver the sport

  • GENERAL MEMBER - HIGH PERFORMANCE REPRESENTATIVE (VOLUNTEER)

    In consultation with GV Office, be responsible for:
    • Liaising with GV HP General Manager as required.
    • Ensuring HP pathways are included in TC decision making.
    • Ensuring HP updates are provided to the TC .
    • Keeping a record of High performance athletes, coaches and judges’ international representation ato assist GV with marketing and awards presentations.

  • GENERAL MEMBER - PROJECTS (VOLUNTEER)

    In consultation with GV Office, be responsible for:
    • Working with TD on TC projects as required
    • Oversee any short-term projects as decided by the TC
    • Liaising with GV relevant departments and ensuring the correct process is followed.

     

  • All Committee Members in addition to specific role descriptions

    Responsible for:

    • Being a positive representative of Gymnastics Victoria to the greater gymnastics community and ensuring that all statements made to the community are in line with the values, mission, and strategic plans of Gymnastics Victoria
    • Technical Committee members are not permitted to comment on behalf of GV unless prior approval has been given
    • Playing an active role in the decision-making process on the TC and taking roles as directed to assist the TC with their operational plan
    • Providing a conduit between the gymnastics community, the TC and the GV office, actively seeking and listening to feedback and sharing this in an impartial and collaborative manner.
    • Being available to assist with special events throughout the year
    • Providing feedback and helping to make decisions regarding the format of competition formats and other activities.
    • Assisting with other Committee duties as and when required

  • Child Safe Behaviours

    Please note: All Technical Committee applications are reviewed by the GV office and undergo a Child Safe Screening Process. Any information regarding the above is only provided to GV who will be in contact with the relevant person if required.

    • Improper Use of Drugs and Medicine; and
    • Complaints, Disputes, and Discipline.

  • 1. I do not have any criminal charge pending before the courts.
    2. I do not have any criminal convictions whatsoever including findings of guilt for Sexual Offences, offences related to Children or acts of violence.
    3. I have not had:

    a. any disciplinary proceedings brought against me by an employer, sporting organisation or similar body involving child abuse, sexual misconduct or Harassment, other forms of harassment or acts of violence; or
    b. disciplinary proceedings brought against me by an employer, sporting organisation or similar body involving child abuse, sexual misconduct or harassment, other forms of Harassment or acts of violence and have attached to this declaration all information and documentation relating to the same (including without limitation correspondence from the relevant body imposing such disciplinary proceedings or measures) as applicable.

    4. I am not currently serving a sanction for an anti-doping rule violation under an ASADA / Sport Integrity Australia (SIA) approved anti-doping policy applicable to me.
    5. I will not participate in, facilitate or encourage any practice prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency Code or any other ASADA/SIA approved anti-doping policy applicable to me.
    6. To my knowledge there is no other matter that GA/GV may consider to constitute a risk to its members, employees, volunteers, Participants or reputation by engaging me.
    7. I will notify the CEO of the organisation(s) engaging me immediately upon becoming aware that any of the matters set out in paragraphs 1 to 6 above has changed.
    8. I acknowledge that GV relies on my answers to the above questions being truthful and accurate. Any false or misleading answer I provide will constitute a breach of this Member Protection Policy.

  • Making a Disclosure

    Upon review of the points in the above Declarations, if you do not agree with this Declaration or are required to make a disclosure, please contact Tammy Hart, Community Engagement Manager at info@gymvic.org.au or on 03 9005 4700 to discuss further. Informing GV of any conduct contrary to the above points does not automatically make you unsuitable to begin or continue your application. GV will consider whether the disclosure impacts on your ability to perform the inherent requirements of your role, and/or whether the disclosure is such that it would be inappropriate for you to conduct parts of your role unsupervised. Once an assessment is made, you will be informed whether your application can proceed.
