  • Good News!

Based on the initial details you’ve provided, you appear to be eligible for Irish citizenship through the Foreign Birth Register (FBR). Completing this process will allow you to become an Irish citizen, obtain an Irish passport, and enjoy all the benefits that it brings!

    Please note:

    • The Irish Government’s current processing time for FBR applications are currently being processed within the normal turnaround time of 9 months from receipt of supporting documents.
    • If you need to be in Ireland sooner, we can also discuss Visa Options that may suit your situation.

Important: The FBR process and Visa Options are separate processes. You are free to explore both paths at the same time!

  • If you have an Irish association e.g. an Irish great-grandparent and a strong connection to Ireland, you may be eligible to apply for Naturalisation by Association (NBA).

    Please note:

    • This is not an automatic entitlement. You must demonstrate both your link to your great-grandparent and a compelling personal connection to Ireland.
    • The decision rests entirely with the Minister for Justice, who has the discretion to set aside normal rules based on the strength of your association.
    • Applications have been approved in the past but have also been refused. There is no guarantee of success.

If NBA is not suitable, you may still qualify for a visa option that meets your needs. Our legal teams can advise you on your options at an initial consultation. You can then decide to onboard as a client if you wish to proceed with your application.
