1. A sober, supportive environment rooted in shared values of respect, recovery, and safety
2 . Peer support from other residents who are also committed to recovery
3 . Weekly house meetings, peer check-ins, and shared responsibilities
4 . Opportunities to contribute to the direction and culture of the house

Interview: Whenever possible, an interview may be conducted with the applicant to assess their commitment to recovery and willingness to abide by house rules. In the event that the resident is unable to conduct an interview, conversations with treatment providers or other professionals may be coordinated and/or a written
statement or other materials collected from the applicant.
Assessment: If deemed necessary, an assessment may be scheduled with a qualified professional to evaluate the applicant's readiness for a recovery housing environment. The resident may choose an appropriately credentialed provider to conduct the assessment.
Background Check: BE Onyx Property LLC is committed to providing a safe and supportive recovery environment. As part of the admissions process, a background check may be conducted to assess the applicant’s suitability for communal living in a recovery setting.
Residents with the following criminal history may not be eligible for admission:
Active warrants or pending criminal charges
Sex offense convictions that require registration
Recent convictions involving violence or arson (within the past 5 years)
Convictions related to the manufacture or trafficking of controlled substances (within the past 3 years)
Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis. The nature, severity, and date of the offense(s), as well as the applicant’s recovery progress, may be considered.
Applicants are encouraged to disclose any relevant background information during the application process.
False or omitted information may result in denial or discharge.
Current Resident Involvement: BE Onyx Property LLC values a peer-supported recovery environment where current residents have a voice in shaping the household culture and safety. To support this, current residents will be involved in the admissions process in the following ways:
1. Resident Interviews (When Possible):
Whenever feasible, prospective residents will participate in a meet-and-greet or informal interview with current residents before admission. This meeting allows current residents to ask questions, share expectations, and provide feedback to staff.
2. Personal Statement Review:
If a live meeting is not possible, the prospective resident may submit a brief personal statement and recovery background summary to be shared with current residents.
3. Peer Voting and Feedback:
After the meeting or review, current residents may submit anonymous votes or feedback regarding whether the applicant should be accepted into the home. The results of the vote will be seriously considered as part of the final admission decision.
4. Collaborative Decision-Making:
The House Manager and Program Director will review the feedback alongside eligibility criteria, recovery readiness, and house dynamics to determine the best fit. While staff holds final authority, resident input is highly valued and respected in this process.
Notification: Once a decision is reached, the applicant will be notified of their move-in status.
Appeals Process:
If an applicant is denied admission, they have the right to request an appeal. The appeals process will involve a review of the initial decision by the Program Director, Cierra Jackson.
