  • Cross Country PERMISSION FORM

    2025 - 2026 School Year
  • Cross Country is open to all students in Grades 2 - 7. It will be a fast and fun season, starting with practices the week of September 8 ending at the CISVA Championship Meet on October 1.

     

    CRITERIA for joining and staying on the team:

    • Attendance for all practices 
    • Uniform Gym strip (gym shirt, short, sweatpants and sweatshirt) must be worn for all practices and meets
    • All students must demonstrate the Stars 3Rs (Reverence, Respect and Responsibility) at practices and meets 

    PRACTICE Details:

    • Practices run most Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 8am at the school (see school calendar for schedule)
    • Practices start with warm up in the gym, followed by a run on the trails.
    • Staff members and parent volunteers supervise along the route for first aid and safety
    • Students must train appropriately for Cross Country distances, so regular attendance is MANDATORY. Too many missed practices may result in your child being removed from the team
    • Finish times during practices are recorded and used to select CISVA Championship team
    • All students must change into full uniform after practice on Friday, September 12 for Mass

    CISVA Cross Country Distances

    • Grades 2 & 3 - 1km
    • Grade 4 - 1.4km
    • Grade 5 & 6 - 2km
    • Grade 7 - 2.8km
  • IMPORTANT DATES:

    • Monday, September 8 - Deadline to join Cross Country (before 1st practice)
    • Monday, September 8 - FIRST practice @ 8am
    • Friday, September 19 - Star of the Sea Cross Country Meet
    • Friday, September 19 - CISVA Team permission forms go home; END of SEASON for all other runners
    • Monday, September 22 - Mandatory practice for all CISVA participants
    • Wednesday, September 24 - Mandatory practice for all CISVA participants
    • Friday, September 26 - Mandatory practice for all CISVA participants
    • Wednesday, October 1 - CISVA Championship Meet
