Public Notice: Policy Updates and Public Hearing

The Housing Authority of Savannah (HAS) is updating its policies regarding local preferences for waiting lists as outlined in the Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policies (ACOP) for public housing and the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program Administrative Plan. These updates aim to promote equitable access to housing and better align with the evolving needs of the Savannah community.

To ensure transparency and public engagement, HAS will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in the Auditorium of Building B at the Neighborhood Resource Center, located at 1407 Wheaton Street, Savannah, GA 31404.

The purpose of the hearing is to provide all interested individuals with an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed revisions to both the ACOP and the HCV Administrative Plan.

In addition to the hearing, HAS will accept written public comments during a 45-day comment period, beginning Monday, September 8, 2025 at 8:30 a.m., and ending Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.

All comments must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
