  • Community Agreements

We commit to work that centers Black, Indigenous, Trans, Queer, Disabled, Undocumented, and Unhoused individuals. Their wisdom and needs guide our actions and decisions.

We will meet each Sunday morning around 9:15 - 9:45 at the load-in spot - we acknowledge that the time may change based on the day and the stated time is a target.

Water Drop Funds will be allocated to those we serve, for example if we have to go get undergarments, jackets, shoes, etc to meet an immediate need & bulk supplies if/when possible (Bulk utensils, cups, to go boxes, coolers, etc). If we receive an abundance beyond we will make a collective decision on how the funds will be used. The funds will be logged and shared transparently.

We will open and close together. Before outreach, we circle up for intros, check-ins, roles, and updates. After outreach, we will debrief, sharing what we saw, how we feel, and what we need. This helps us stay connected and accountable.

We share responsibility and respect capacity. Not everyone has to do everything. We speak up about what we can or can’t do and check in with each other throughout. We acknowledge that it’s okay to step back, ask for help, or change roles.

We acknowledge we are stepping into others’ space. The street is someone’s home and community. We approach with humility and never expect others to adjust to us.

We follow the lead of those we serve. People know what they need. We will ask for consent and only offer what’s welcome.
We center dignity in every interaction. Whether someone is calm, upset, high, nonverbal, or in crisis we acknowledge that they deserve care and respect.

We don’t expect people to say “thank you” or act a certain way to get support. We provide without conditions.

We are honest about what we can offer. We don’t make promises we can’t keep. If we don’t have something, we say so, and if we can, we work to find it later or connect them to someone who can.

We reject scarcity thinking. If someone takes a lot, that’s okay. If resources run out, that’s on the systems in place, not the people we serve. We share what we have and keep working to bring more.

No photos or videos of people without full, informed consent.

We do not collaborate with police or the state.

We meet people where they are, not where systems want them to be. That means no judgment around drug use, mental health, or survival strategies.
We take de-escalation seriously and commit to learning it and collecting resources. We understand that de-escalation is a skill that is built upon over time and experience and we commit to trying, learning, and asking

We commit to center anti-capitalist, anti-colonial, and anti-racist work in everything we do.

We challenge respectability politics. Everyone has the right to express themselves authentically. We do not demand conformity or suppress voices to maintain comfort. We communicate openly and hold space for vulnerability.

Mistakes are opportunities for growth. We address harm directly, with a focus on understanding and repair, not punishment or exclusion.

We commit to disability justice and masking at every water drop to protect all of our community members, among many other reasons.

We commit to ongoing self-reflection and unlearning. To acknowledge our privileges and biases, continuously work to dismantle them, and grow in our understanding and actions.

We reject state violence and punitive justice. Instead, we build transformative alternatives rooted in healing, accountability, and community care.

We recognize and resist carceral logic in all forms. This includes not only prisons and police but also policing within our communities, institutions, and relationships. No calling cops!

We commit to unlearning white supremacy in all of its forms, on our own and as a group. We recognize that we will not be perfect and agree to take accountability when we mess up.

We remember our mission is to serve the community and center collective liberation above all else.

We commit to hold each other accountable to these agreements and will work together to realign with care where the agreements are not being followed.
