  • The Story of the Mawlid: A Detailed Study of the Text by Imam Ibn Kathir

Join us for a special two-day weekend intensive with ISCJ Resident Scholar, Shaykh Ismail Bowers, as we study Imam Ibn Kathir’s classic work on the birth of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

This text offers a detailed narration of the Prophet’s blessed lineage and birth, the story of Sayyida Halimah al-Sa‘diyyah and the blessings that filled her household when she nursed the Prophet ﷺ, as well as the miraculous incident of Jibril cleansing the Prophet’s heart in childhood. The study concludes with Ibn Kathir’s description of the Prophet’s sublime qualities, noble character, and beautiful outward form ﷺ.

Written by the great historian, exegete, and scholar Imam Ibn Kathir (701-774 AH), this concise yet powerful work reflects his deep reverence and love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. While short in length, it provides rich insights that inspire knowledge, reflection, and admiration for the life of the Prophet ﷺ.

The text for this intensive is available at this link. Feel free to purchase a copy or download the free PDF version.

Free babysitting will be available in the MPR. Please complete the required registration below to help us plan accordingly.
