2025-2026 Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition! The annual 2025-2026 Concerto Competition will take place on December 14, 2025, from 1:00-5:00PM. The competition will take place in the Ohio Theatre’s Rehearsal Room 1. This competition is open to all Youth Orchestra members, grades 9-12. Please fill out the information below. ***The deadline to submit this application is Monday, December 1 at 11:59PM. All required items are denoted with an asterisk. Please note that there may be a possibility of multiple winners. For questions, please contact the Education Coordinator at ndewberry@columbussymphony.com.
Performance Requirements:

- Performance selections should be of an advanced level (such as OMEA Class A) and MUST be approved by Maestro Miller and Private Teacher.

- Your piece MUST be public domain. This is a definitive policy. (NOTE: Public domain are works that have been published in or before 1929).

- Your private teacher must fill out the teacher approval form. If your piece is NOT approved, you will be notified.

- Participants MUST provide their own accompanist. If you have questions regarding this, please contact ndewberry@columbussymphony.com.

- Memorization is required.

- Two original music scores or parts must be provided for the judges. Photocopies are not permitted.

PLEASE NOTE: Auditions will be scheduled in 10 minute increments. Applicants may be stopped due to time constraints.
