State of Matter

When matter is solid, molecules stay locked together in the same shape. When matter is liquid, molecules stay close together but can move around. When matter is a gas, molecules spread away from each other.
🧊💧💨 The 3 States of Matter
Matter is what everything is made of — like toys, water, and even air!
There are three main states of matter:
1. Solid
● A solid keeps its shape.
● It doesn’t move around on its own.
● Example: A toy, a rock, or an ice cube.
2. Liquid
● A liquid flows and can be poured.
● It takes the shape of its container.
● Example: Water, juice, or milk.
3. Gas
● A gas spreads out everywhere.
● You can’t always see it, but it’s there!
● Example: Air, steam, or the bubbles in soda.
Fun Tip:
Ice is a solid, but when it melts, it becomes liquid water. When water gets really hot, it turns into gas (steam)!
