    with these brief descriptions below!

    Plan Review – For any work that requires a building permit from a municipality. This includes interior remodeling, exterior modifications, additions, new commercial developments, sewer main extensions, etc.

    Disconnection – Must be done prior to demolishing a building or if an existing sewer service is being abandoned. Requires CCTV of existing sewer line for disconnect approval. Email CCTV footage to Permits@FCWRD.org or drop off at District office.

    Reconnection – Connecting a new sewer service to the District main line on a previously serviced property.

    New Property Connection – Connecting a new sewer service for a new or previously vacant property. Requires submittal of building plans.

    Septic System Conversion – Retiring of a septic system and connecting a sewer service to the District main. 

    Replacement Lateral – When a significant portion of the sewer service is to be replaced. This can include the entire service as long as the same connection point on the main is used. This is not to be used for a new building where the existing building was demolished.

    GIP – Installation and inspection of a grease trap.

    Sewer Main Extension – Extending the service area by adding new main sewer line that will become District owned once inspection is passed. Also requires Illinois EPA approval. Requires Plan Review first.

    Repair Inspection – The most common inspection permit. For all repairs to the sanitary service, including the installation of a clean out. Typical scenarios would include shear off at the foundation wall, root intrusion, collapse, or installation of clean check backflow device.

    Sewer Lateral Rehab/Lining – For rehabilitating the existing sewer lateral with Cured In Place Pipe. Requires CCTV of existing sewer line for approval. Email CCTV footage to Permits@FCWRD.org or drop off at District office.

    Permitted Flow – A permit that grants a specific maximum discharge based on estimated daily use for commercial or multi unit buildings. May require CCTV of existing sewer line for approval. Email CCTV footage to Permits@FCWRD.org or drop off at District office.
