    Host Information & Participation Overview

    The SkillReady Volunteer Industry Exposure Program is designed to support international students currently enrolled in relevant trade courses through CRICOS-affiliated Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) within Australia.

    The program connects eligible participants with verified host businesses to provide structured, short-term exposure to Australian workplace environments focused on professional awareness, communication, workplace confidence, and industry readiness.

    About the Program

    Duration: Up to 3 months depending on suitability and availability.

    Attendance: Recommended up to 10 hours across 2 days weekly, or as otherwise arranged between the Host and participant.

    Program Type: Voluntary, unpaid, observational workplace exposure.

    Placement Scope: Structured observation and supervised low-risk exposure only.

    Host Responsibilities

    • Provide a safe and supervised workplace environment.
    • Conduct a basic site induction before commencement.
    • Ensure workplace health & safety procedures are followed.
    • Provide reasonable supervision during placement activities.
    • Notify SkillReady of any incident, injury, near-miss, or safety concern.
    • Maintain appropriate workplace insurance coverage.
    • Ensure participants are not exposed to unsafe or unsupervised high-risk work.
    • For Carpentry, Tiling, Painting, and Building & Construction related placements, SkillReady Solutions will ensure participating candidates hold current White Card (General Construction Induction) requirements where applicable prior to placement commencement.

    Participant Status

    Participants attending through the SkillReady Program are:

    • Voluntary and unpaid participants.
    • Not employees of the Host or SkillReady.
    • Not labour-hire workers or contractors.
    • Attending for structured workplace exposure only.
    • Expected to follow workplace conduct and WHS requirements at all times.

    Suitable Exposure Activities

    Participants may:

    • Observe workplace operations and workflow.
    • Assist with safe, low-risk supervised activities where appropriate.
    • Observe workplace tools, systems, and communication processes.
    • Develop awareness of Australian workplace expectations and culture.

    Participants must not:

    • Replace paid employees or staff members.
    • Perform restricted or licensed work independently.
    • Undertake unsafe or high-risk activities unsupervised.
    • Operate equipment or machinery without approval and supervision.

    Important Conditions

    • Placements remain voluntary and unpaid at all times.
    • Placement availability depends on suitability, scheduling, and safety considerations.
    • Hosts may decline or discontinue placements where serious workplace conduct, safety, policy, or compliance breaches occur.
    • Participants must comply with workplace conduct and safety expectations.
    • SkillReady Solutions does not guarantee employment, sponsorship, or migration outcomes.

    Host Support Package: Provided via SkillReady per approved placement

    By submitting this form on behalf of the Host Organisation, I confirm that our workplace can provide a safe and appropriately supervised environment for participants attending through the SkillReady Volunteer Industry Exposure Program.

    I acknowledge that participants attend on a voluntary and unpaid workplace exposure basis only and will not undertake unsafe, high-risk, or unsupervised activities. I further confirm that participants will receive a basic workplace induction prior to commencement and that our organisation maintains appropriate workplace safety procedures, supervision arrangements, and relevant insurance coverage.

    I understand that serious misconduct, unsafe behaviour, harassment, violence, drug or alcohol-related conduct, or significant policy breaches may result in immediate placement discontinuation where required. Relevant incidents, injuries, safety concerns, or compliance matters involving participants may also be communicated to SkillReady Solutions where appropriate.

    I also acknowledge that any support package contribution provided by SkillReady Solutions is intended solely as recognition of supervision time, administrative coordination, workplace resources, or placement-related operational support.
