Folksy Scouts offers children the rare opportunity to slow down and experience the joy of learning practical life skills, while immersed in what our natural world has to offer.
Meetings are held at The Folksy House - on Main Street in Clarence.
Our troops work with children ages 4.5 through 11, and meet weekly from October through June. Each meeting focuses on completing an activity within one of our Folksy Scout Foundations. Once all activities within a Foundation are completed, the scout has earned the patch for that Foundation!
Throughout the year, scouts will also be encouraged to participate in fundraising activities to earn their Entrepreneurship patch, offset the costs of patches, and Folksy Scout community events.
Our scouts are given the space to be children—exploring the natural world, learning life skills, and gaining independence in a supportive environment. Through our community, children form meaningful relationships with one another and the earth, cultivating a deep appreciation for both. At Folksy Scouts, we believe in nurturing the whole child, empowering them to grow into confident, capable individuals with a lifelong connection to nature.
Our year ends with a big Folksy Scouts picnic to celebrate all that our Folksy Scouts have achieved during the year!
