Temporary Leasing of Agricultural Land to Category 3, 4, 5, and Young Farmers
This scheme provides a structured framework through which agricultural land temporarily transferred to Riżorsi Agrikoli Malta (RAM) is allocated to active farmers classified under Categories Three (3), Four (4), and Five (5), as well as to eligible young farmers, with the objective of maximising agricultural productivity and ensuring the sustainable use of land.

During the three-year lease period, RAM shall administer the agricultural parcels and allocate them exclusively for the cultivation of food crops. All allocations shall be leased for a fixed term of three (3) years, with rental rates established in accordance with Subsidiary Legislation 199.02 - Valuation of Agricultural Land Regulations.

The allocation process shall be conducted through a transparent, objective, and merit-based evaluation system, applying a scoring matrix with a maximum of one hundred (120) points. Assessment criteria shall include, inter alia, the applicant's categorisation, farming track record, the proximity of existing agricultural operations to the land under consideration and the documents provided.

Applicants are required to familiarise themselves with the Guidance Notes prior to completing this application which form an integral part of this application. Compliance with the provisions contained therein is mandatory. Upon submission, all applications shall be subject to a thorough vetting, validation, and assessment process in accordance with the applicable Guidance Notes, as well as any other rules, procedures, and internal verification mechanisms adopted by Riżorsi Agrikoli Malta (RAM). The submission of an application shall not be construed as an automatic entitlement to participate in the scheme, nor as a guarantee of allocation or of any associated benefit.

Applications shall only be deemed eligible once all required administrative, technical, and internal checks have been duly completed and formally approved by RAM.

Only those applications that fully meet all eligibility conditions and assessment criteria, and which receive formal approval by Riżorsi Agrikoli Malta, shall be considered eligible under this scheme.
