Confidentiality Expectations Between Participants
AlterHERed Shift is designed to be a courageous, reflective, and emotionally safe space for clinicians to explore deep issues related to race, trauma, and mental health. To preserve that safety:
I agree to respect the privacy and confidentiality of all other participants.
I will not share, disclose, or repeat any personal stories, reflections, or comments made by others during live sessions or in the online community spaces.
I understand that what is shared in the group stays in the group unless explicit permission is given.
Limited Confidentiality Notice (Virtual Environment)
Due to the nature of online platforms (Zoom, online communities, etc.), absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed. Relief with Rissa LLC will make reasonable efforts to create a safe and private virtual learning environment, but:
Zoom sessions may be recorded (with no participant faces shown in recordings used externally).
There is always some risk of technological or environmental breaches (e.g., someone overhearing from another room, screen-sharing mishaps, etc.).
Confidentiality can be compromised by participant behavior (e.g., sharing screenshots, discussing others' stories outside of the space), and this is strongly discouraged.
Appropriate Participation Environment
To maintain the integrity and emotional safety of the space, all participants are expected to:
Log in from a private, quiet, and distraction-free environment.
Use headphones to minimize background noise and protect others' voices from being overheard.
Keep cameras on during live sessions when possible (unless discussed with the facilitator) to promote connection and accountability.
Avoid participating while driving, multitasking, or in public spaces.
