    Behavior Contract & Fee | January 10-11, 2026, at Our Lady of the Fields, Brighton
  • Overnight Confirmation Retreat Behavior Contract:

    Purpose:
    This document outlines the expectations for student behavior during the Confirmation overnight retreat. The goal is to ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable experience for all students, Confirmation team, and retreat staff members.

    By signing this contract, both students and parents/guardians agree to the following rules and guidelines.

  • General Expectations for All Students:

    1. Respect for Others:
      • Treat fellow students, chaperones, and strangers with respect at all times.
      • Use kind and polite language.
      • Respect personal space and belongings.
      • Be considerate and supportive in group settings.
    2. Safety:
      • Follow all safety instructions provided by chaperones and staff members.
      • Stay with your group at all times, unless given permission to separate.
      • No running or rough play.
      • Report any concerns or safety issues immediately to a Confirmation team member or retreat staff.
      • All medications need to be checked in with a Confirmation team member. Please place medications in a ziploc baggie with the student’s name and dosage instructions. 
    3. Behavior in Public:
      • Always use appropriate language and demonstrate good manners.
    4. Participation:
      • Engage in all scheduled activities and follow the instructions of the Confirmation team and retreat staff.
      • Actively contribute to group discussions and tasks when requested.
      • Be punctual—arrive on time for all activities and meetings.
  • Cabin & Overnight Behavior:

    1. Room Expectations:
      • Only those assigned to your cabin may be inside. No cabin visits by students in the other cabin.
      • Keep the noise level low in the cabin so that everyone can rest and follow the cabin’s quiet hours.
      • Respect cabin property—no damage to furniture, fixtures, or other belongings.
        Keep your cabin clean and neat; follow all check-out procedures.
        Follow any specific cabin rules, including use of amenities and curfew times.
    2. Curfew & Bedtime:
      • Be in your cabin by the designated curfew time.
      • Lights out will be at the set bedtime, and all students are expected to be quiet in their cabin by this time.
      • There will be Confirmation team members in the cabin to monitor the noise level and to keep our students safe. The Confirmation team members will contact Dcn. Dan as needed.
    3. Respecting Confirmation team members and Retreat staff:
      • Follow all directions from Confirmation team members and retreat staff immediately and without argument.
      • Treat Confirmation team members and retreat staff with courtesy and respect at all times.
      • Any misconduct or inappropriate behavior will result in consequences, including disciplinary action by Holy Family Catholic School for its students.
  • Conduct During Group Activities:

    1. In Small and Large Groups:
      • Stay with your assigned group at all times.
      • Follow the guidelines provided for each location.
      • Use an indoor voice and be mindful of other retreatants.
      • No shouting or disruptive behavior during group activities.
    2. Respect for Property:
      • Leave all retreat property as you found it.
      • No graffiti, carving, or damaging property.
  • Electronic Device Use:

    1. Phones and Electronics:
      • Phones and other electronics should be used only during designated times.
      • No phones used during scheduled activities unless explicitly allowed by a Confirmation team member.
      • Parents can contact Dcn Dan through his cell phone.  A phone conversation can be arranged at a suitable time in the itinerary. 
  • Consequences for Misbehavior:

    Failure to follow the expectations outlined in this contract may result in the following consequences:

    • Verbal warning and a reminder of expectations.
    • A written report of the incident and a call to parents/guardians.
    • Temporary removal from activities.
    • In extreme cases, a student may be sent home early at the parents’ expense.
  • Acknowledgement & Agreement:

    I, the undersigned student, have read and understood the above expectations and agree to follow them throughout the retreat. I understand that any failure to do so may result in consequences outlined above.
