  • CWETA IS THRILLED TO ANNOUNCE OUR 2025-2026
    RESIDENT ARTIST

Eric Petersen is a versatile American actor based in Los Angeles. A seasoned musical-theatre performer, he starred as Shrek both on Broadway and in the first U.S. national tour of Shrek the Musical. His Broadway credits also include School of Rock and Escape to Margaritaville. On screen, Petersen has appeared in popular shows such as Modern Family, The Big Bang Theory, Chicago Fire, NCIS, CSI, Jessie, Law & Order, and TV Land’s Kirstie alongside Kirstie Alley. He also starred in an acclaimed AMC comedy series opposite Emmy Award–winner Annie Murphy.

This January, Eric will join the cast and creative team of CWETA’s SHREK! as a Resident Artist. As part of this residency, teachers & students who are attending a matinee performance of "SHREK! THE MUSICAL" can take advantage of a unique opportunity to bring Eric into your classroom for an educational workshop at no additional charge.
