FALL CHEER TRYOUT 2025

Tryout Information:

• 1st Round: Virtual due by Wednesday, September 17th
• 2nd Round: In-Person Monday, September 22nd 3P-5P* 
• 3rd Round: In-Person Tuesday, September 23rd 3P-5P*

*Locations will be given in the email instructions for each round

Tryout Requirements:

• current HCU student (part time minimum)
• Top girls only
• 2.5 GPA minimum
• good student conduct standing
• availbility for practice every Tuesday & Thursday 3-5P
• positive, coachable and driven to grow in all skillsets

To Register:

Please complete the following form in its entirety and check your HCU email for confirmation of registration and important additional information.

Tryout registration will close on Monday, September 16th. No late registrations or walk-ins will be accepted.

The following registration form will require you to provide us with pertinent information about you, your interest in the program, any experience you might have, important contact information, and a photograph of yourself, etc.

Some of the information you will need before completing this form include:

• Your HCU Student ID (HNumber) – HNumber can be located on Husky Net.
• Personal insurance information
• Emergency contact information (e.g. name, phone, email)
• Contact information for 2 references (e.g. name, email)
• Current class schedule
• Photograph of your self (uploaded – Photo requirements are as follows:
  • The photo should be a full-length body photo
  • Acceptable formats: JPG, JPEG, PNG, or BMP image file
  • Maximum file size: 5MB
  • Scan photos must print as a 2″ x 2″ image or larger
  • Photo must be at least 640 x 480 pixels.

Please make sure you have all of the above information readily available before completing this form. You will also need to submit a copy of your most recent physical with your virtual tryout packet.

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the activity detailed above and in full recognition of the risks and dangers to which I may be exposed during the activity, do hereby agree to assume all risks and responsibilities associated with my participation in the activity or any independent research or activities undertaken as an adjunct thereto; and further, I do for myself, my heirs, personal representatives, executors, and administrators, hereby agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Houston Christian University (“HCU”), its trustees, administrators, other employees and agents harmless from any and all liability, actions, causes of actions, debts, claims and demands of every kind and nature whatsoever. Furthermore, I assume all risk and responsibility for personal injuries and/or death, and losses, and/or damages to my personal property, which might arise during the activity. I also acknowledge and understand that HCU has made no representations or warranties regarding my safety or security.

Medical Treatment Authorization: I authorize HCU and its representatives to seek and obtain any necessary medical treatment or attention in the event of an injury, illness, or medical emergency during the tryout. I understand that HCU will make reasonable efforts to contact me or my emergency contact before seeking medical treatment, but they may proceed with necessary medical care if immediate attention is required.
Compliance with Rules and Guidelines: I agree to comply with all rules, guidelines, and instructions provided by HCU Cheer during tryouts.
Photography and Publicity Release: I grant HCU the right to use photographs, videos, or other likenesses of me taken during the tryouts for promotional, educational, and archival purposes.
Parent/Guardian Consent: If the participant is a minor, the parent or legal guardian must consent to this waiver and release of liability on their behalf.
I have read and understand this Waiver and Release of Liability, and I voluntarily sign it as my own free act and deed. I am aware that by signing this document, I am waiving certain legal rights that I or my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns may have against HCU.

A copy of your most current physical will be required to be submitted with virtual tryout submissions
