• Art Fare: a community art exhibit at Matthaei Botanical Gardens

Following the food chain, at some point everything we humans consume for nourishment comes from plants. Fruit, shoots, and roots contribute to our diets and our culture. The food we eat and how we dine has frequently been a topic in artworks, from still lifes by Flemish artist Clara Peeters to DaVinci's "The Last Supper" to Cezanne's apples to Andy Warhol's "Campbell's Soup Cans". Fresh on the vine or served up on the dinner table, Matthaei Botanical Gardens will be hosting a group exhibition of works inspired by the food we eat.
