Otero College Medical Laboratory Technician Application
Thank you for taking the time to fill out the Otero MLT application. Our application is open year round but we will not start reviews until October 30, 2025 for the regular class start and July 15, 2026 for the FastTrack start. You will need to do the following in order to be considered for admission.

1. Apply to Otero College at www.otero.edu if you have not already done so.

2. Submit all OFFICIAL transcripts to otero-admissions@otero.edu

3. Complete and pass a criminal background check through castlebranch (pick Otero Junior College and Medical Laboratory Technology) http://cccs.castlebranch.com/ after the semester begins. Failed background check will result in immediate dismissal from the program.

4. Make sure all holds are removed from your account.

5. Complete the MLT orientation with a score of 90%. Program director will enroll you in the orientation upon acceptance to Otero College and registration of your first class.

6. Complete the MLT Entrance Exam. Program Director will enroll you in the exam upon acceptance to Otero College and registration of your first class.

6. A drug test will be administered after admission. Failure to pass the drug test will result in dismissal from the program.
