    Evening departure on an overnight transatlantic flight to Malta.

    Sunday, April 26 – Arrival in Valletta (D)
    Arrive at Malta International Airport and private transfer to your hotel in Valletta.
    Evening at leisure to explore the waterfront. Dinner and overnight. (D)

    Monday, April 27 – Valletta, Mosta & Rabat (B, D)
    Breakfast at the hotel.Morning walking tour of Valletta’s highlights:Upper Barrakka Gardens for panoramic Grand Harbour views St. John’s Co-Cathedral and its Caravaggio masterpiece Lunch on your own, then depart for Mosta:
    Visit the Rotunda, famed for its vast unsupported dome Continue to Rabat to explore: St. Paul’s Grotto and the adjoining church The Roman Domus archaeological site The Cathedral of St. Paul and St. Peter are two cathedrals that serves the Diocese of Europe and the Church of England. Return to Valletta. Welcome dinner in a traditional Maltese restaurant and overnight.

    Tuesday, April 28 – Guided Gozo Tour & Transfer to Sicily (B, D)
    Early breakfast and transfer to Cirkewwa ferry terminal. High-speed ferry crossing to Gozo (approx. 25 min). Half-day guided tour of Gozo’s sacred and historic sites: Ġgantija Temples (c. 3600 BC) The fortified Citadel in Victoria Chapel of Ta’ Pinu or Xlendi Bay vista point Return ferry to Malta by early afternoon. Brief stop back in Valletta for a final stroll or light refreshment.
    Late-afternoon transfer to Valletta by ferry and motor coach to Siracusa, dinner and overnight.

    Wednesday, April 29 – Siracusa & Taormina (B)
    Breakfast, then guided visit to ancient Siracusa:Neapolis Archaeological Park and the Ear of Dionysius Ortigia’s Duomo and the Fountain of Arethusa
    Afternoon drive north to Taormina. Free time to wander the Corso Umberto and admire the Ionian Sea views. Dinner and overnight in Taormina.

    Thursday, April 30 – Catania – Calabria - Salerno (B, D)
    Breakfast and transfer down to the Straits of Messina. A 40-minute ferry crossing into Calabria, then scenic drive-up Italy’s Tyrrhenian coast. Continue to Salerno for dinner and overnight.

    Friday, May 1 – Salerno - Amalfi Coast - Salerno (B, D)
    Breakfast, then enjoy a guided tour of the Amalfi coast (Positano – Amalfi – Vietri sul Mare) by boat. Enjoy lunch on your own at a local restaurant then head back to Salerno in the afternoon. Overnight in Salerno.

    Saturday, May 2 – Salerno - Herculaneum & Pompeii - Pozzuoli (B, D)
    Breakfast, then departure for Pompeii via ferry crossing from Messina (Sicily) to Villa San Giovanni (mainland Italy) about 20 minutes. Enjoy a 2–3-hour tour of the Forum, Theatre, and the House of the Vettii. Drive to Herculaneum for a visit of the archaeological park. Continue to Pozzuoli, where St. Paul landed after Rhegium. Dinner and overnight in Pozzuoli.

    Sunday, May 3 –Pozzuoli – Minturno - Gaeta Worship (B, D)
    Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the archaeological site of Pozzuoli then departure for Gaeta stopping at Minturno’s Roman Ruins for a visit on the way. 
    Reflection time by the Volturno River. Arrive in Gaeta for dinner and overnight.

    Monday, May 4– Gaeta & Città Medievale (B)
    Breakfast followed by Gaeta highlights:Monte Orlando’s 1st century B.C. mausoleum Montagna Spaccata monastery Afternoon drive to Città Medievale:
    Golden Chapel of the Church of the Annunciation The Duomo Overnight in Gaeta.

    Thursday, May 5 –Appian Way & Rome (B)
    Breakfast then departure for the Appian Way, viewing Foro Appio and Tres Tabernae. Arrive in Rome for visits to: San Paolo Fuori le Mura; the majestic basilica of St. Paul’s Outside the Walls, over the burial site of St Paul, this is one of the four major papal basilicas of Rome and built over the burial site of Saint Paul the Apostle.
    Cloisters and Catacombs of San Sebastiano Overnight in Rome. 

    Wednesday, May 6 – Papal Audience & Vatican (B, D)
    Early breakfast and attend the Papal Audience (pending confirmation).
    Guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums, including the Sistine Chapel. Afternoon at leisure in Rome. Farewell dinner and overnight.

    Thursday, May 7 – Return to USA (B)
    Breakfast and private transfer to Rome Fiumicino Airport for your flight home.

    • This is a moderately strenuous tour, walking on archaeological sites, cobblestone streets and hills. For your safety and enjoyment you should be able to walk a mile briskly and climb 100 stairs. Most sites are not handicapped accessible.
    • While we do our very best to make sure all items listed in your itinerary are included, there are times when conditions beyond our control affect your program/itinerary, including but not limited to delays, weather, political climate, time constraints, or changes by your group leader and tour guide. Most sites are not handicap accessible.
