Handmade Holiday Market: 

Clay Place Vendor Application

UVA invites Active Clay Place Members to participate in a very special one-day event to share their art with the community around the holiday season. On Shop Small Saturday, UVA will host a special Handmade Holiday Market and event, where visitors will come to UVA's campus to enjoy a variety of art experiences, delicious bites and drinks, and purchase artwork from local UVA Artist Members in our Main Building and Clay Place Members in The Clay Place studio for themselves or their loved ones for the holiday. This is a FREE opportunity for our Clay Place Members to help support them in their personal artistic practices.

While the event is free to Clay Place Members, spots are limited so each member is required to register to confirm their spot. Each Clay Place Member will get a section of our five worktables in the studio to display their work. Three tables can hold anywhere around 1 artist's work, and two tables can hold 2-3 artists' work. In total, there are 10 spaces available for this opportunity. Spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once all 10 spaces are registered for, we will close the form and place interested artists on a waitlist to be contacted in case any participants cancel before the event. 

UVA will provide the tables, but the participating artist will be required to provide their own display items and be prepared to manage their own sales. Artists will get to keep 100% of the sales they make during the event. 

  

VENDOR EVENT TIMELINE

• Vendors will have the opportunity to arrive and set up their table displays between 9am and 11:30am on November 29th. All tables must be set up and ready to serve customers no later than 12pm.
  
• Event Hours: 12pm-7pm (Vendors must be present at their table for the entire duration of the event).

• Load-Out: Begins at 7pm. (Vendors are welcome to do light packing starting no earlier than 6:45pm).

 

Guidelines: 

In The Clay Place area of the Handmade Holiday Market, we would like to feature the beautiful ceramic works of our studio members. To keep this opportunity accessible for all, it is FREE and there are very few guidelines in place except for the following:

• All displays must fit within the allotted space on the tables (to be confirmed closer to the date of the event). If a member has a request to bring in alternative displays, we may be able to accommodate them, but ask members to coordinate with Ashley first. You can reach out to her at: ashley@uvarts.com
• Our goal is to feature only ceramic artists' work in the studio. However, we recognize some of our members make other forms of artwork and want to support that as well. For this reason, we want to allow our studio members to display select works in other mediums in their table display (i.e. jewelry, textiles, woodworking). Please note that additional mediums may take up no more than 25% of the total display. 
• All participating artists will be required to stay the whole day from 12pm-7pm. This is to ensure a full and lively event for visitors. 
• If, for any reason, you need to cancel your attendance at the market, please notify us ASAP so we can reach out to any artists who might be on the waitlist for the event.
