  • Use this registration form to sign up for dancing at SHDA's Fall Competition only.  If you intend to register for all three competitions, please use the Season Registration link instead. 

    Fall registration is only available until Sunday, October 12th. Any entry received after October 12th will incur double dance fees.

    Dancers will be asked to submit their music prior to the competition. Dancers should also have a copy of their music on a USB drive or their phone as a backup.

  • Competition Rules

  • Rules and Entry Information:

    1. The dance competition will be governed by the rules and regulations of the RSOBHD and ScotDance USA.
    2. Each Dancer must present a valid ScotDance registration card at check in to receive their competitor number. Pre-premier cards will be collected and returned after awards.
    3. Each dancer must be a member of SHDA to compete.
    4. Registration must be submitted in advance, no field entries. The deadline to enter is Sunday, October 12, 2025; regular price admission will close at 11:59pm. Any entries received after this date must pay double entry fees and may not be included in the program.
    5. Competition start times and age groups will be decided at the close of entries. Age is determined as of day of competition. Dancers will compete in inverse order of entry – first to enter will be last to dance.
    6. Competition information, including platform schedules, will be distributed via email the Wednesday before the competition and posted online at www.SeattleHighland.org.
    7. Dancers must appear when their group is called or forfeit their chance to dance in that event. Dancers will be asked to fill-in for reels based on date of entry, the last to enter will be asked first to fill-in as needed.
    8. Female, Male, Family, and Private Change areas will be clearly marked. Dancers will be given plenty of time for costume changes. Dancers must remain in costume to receive awards.
    9. Medals will be awarded in all groups except Premier dancers 16 years and older will receive cash prizes instead of medals. Aggregate Trophies will be awarded in all groups except Primary. Perpetual Trophies and Keeper Plaques will be awarded as specified in the program. We require an adult signature before Perpetual Trophies can be taken from the premises.
    10. The decision of the adjudicator is final.
    11. Any protest must be submitted in writing to the competition organizer, properly signed and accompanied by a fee of $25. It must be made immediately following the competition. If the protest is sustained the fee will be returned.
    12. Three month rule: Judges who conduct teaching or coaching classes, seminars or any other forms of tuition (eg by video conferencing), may not adjudicate any competitor who has attended any of these classes for a period of three months after the last class, workshop or any other form of tuition that the competitor has attended. It is the responsibility of the dancer to check on judges prior to the competition.

  • Admissions is $5 per person, excluding dancers, children and seniors. Admissions is $5 per person, excluding dancers, children and seniors. Volunteers and Lifetime Members receive free admission as well. You may pay for admissions in advance or at the door (cash or card) upon entry.
