The Community Ideas Festival 2026 will bring together leaders, volunteers, and changemakers from across Newfoundland and Labrador’s community sector to envision the future of the sector and chart a path forward together.

The goal of the Community Ideas Festival, in both its first and second iterations, is to learn together, connect, strengthen our ecosystem, and co-create solutions that lead to thriving communities across Newfoundland and Labrador.

Big Picture & Final Thought
The Canadian Forum for Social Innovation has outlined three national themes to guide the future of Canada’s community and social innovation ecosystems:
- Policy: An extensive strategy supporting all innovation equitably, across all zones of impact.
- Talent: Skills and talent across innovation ecosystems.
- Connectivity: Capacity and infrastructure for connectivity across innovation ecosystems.
As we look ahead in Newfoundland and Labrador, we want to understand how these national themes connect with our sector, and where our province might follow its own unique pathways.
