    VISA REQUIREMENTS:
    US Citizens: At this time no visa is needed. But beginning in April 2026, US citizens visiting parts of Europe are required to comply with the European Union's Entry/Exit System (EES). This was implemented for secuirty and migration risks of travelers benefiting from visa-free access to the Schengen area.

    The Schengen Area is a zone of 26 European countries that do not have internal borders and allow people to move between them freely, including countries such as Spain, France, Greece, Germany, Italy, and Poland.

    The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) which was scheduled to go into effect in late 2026 but has recently been put on hold with no date scheduled for implementation. You will be updated should they implement this prior to your travel.

    NON-US Citizens: Please contact the Embassy of the country that issued your passport for visa, EES, and/or ETIAS requirements & assistance. 

    The ETIAS is not currently in place, you will be notified when/if the ETIAS become required for US citizens traveling to the EU. 

    Once you have submitted your registration, any changes should be e-mailed to Georgia@expanding-horizons.com. Please note, that this registration site is not compatible with some Apple devices.

    Any changes made after your reservation has been submitted may result in supplier penalties.

  • Cruise Only: Plan your departure from the US on April 14, 2027 to arrive in Bordeaux (BOD) on April 15, 2027. Embarkation begins at 3:00 PM on the ship. The cruise will conclude in Bordeaux (BOD) on April 22, 2027. All guests should disembark before 9:00 am.

    Pre-Cruise Tour & Cruise: Plan your departure from the US on April 11, 2027 to arrive in Bordeaux (BOD) on April 12, 2027.The cruise will conclude in Bordeaux (BOD) on April 22, 2027. All guests should disembark before 9:00 am.

    Cruise & Post-Cruise Tour: Plan your departure from the US on April 14, 2027 to arrive in Bordeaux (BOD) on April 15, 2027. Embarkation begins at 3:00 PM on the ship. The tour will end in Bilbao (BIO) on April 26, 2027. You can depart Bilbao (BIO) any time on April 26, 2027.

    Pre-Cruise Tour, Cruise & Post-Cruise Tour: Plan your departure from the US on April 11, 2027 to arrive in Bordeaux (BOD) on April 12, 2027. The tour will end in Bilbao (BIO) on April 26, 2027. You can depart Bilbao (BIO) any time on April 26, 2027.

    We recommend that you purchase travel protection. Expanding Horizons offers a private group plan from Trawick International. You can find the link to get a quote on the Travel Essentials page of the website. Our Group plan must be purchased prior to final payment to receive the Pre-Existing Medical Conditions Waiver. If you want to purchase a plan with Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage, then you must purchase an individual plan within 21 days of your deposit to qualify. It is the travelers responsibility to purchase travel insurance as travel protection is never automatically added to any reservation.

          • MOBILITY CLAUSE: A reasonable degree of mobility is required. Passengers may be required to ascend and descend flights of 12 or more stairs to board or exit the ship.

            Persons with a walking disability, an injury, or who require a wheelchair/scooter or another mobility device, must have another dedicated person traveling with them to assist with their needs. 

            Entry/Exit System (EES): I understand that I will be responsible for securing this travel authorization prior to departing the US. It is scheduled to go into effect in October 2025, US citizens will ber required to obtain EES documentation for entering most countries in Europe. 

            European Travel Information & Authorization System (ETIAS): I understand that I will be responsible for securing my travel authorization prior to departing the US if this goes into effect prior to travel. This is scheduled to go into effect Starting sometime in 2026, US citizens will be required to obtain ETIAS documentation for entering most countries in Europe.
