Thank you for your interest in our Maremma Sheepdog Livestock Guardian Dogs! Our Maremma puppies are $1,800 and will have a veterinary exam, permanent microchip identification, and all age-appropriate vaccinations at the time of pickup. We keep our puppies on our farm until at least 10 weeks so they can learn as much as possible from us and our other working dogs. Our puppies are eligible for MSCA registration and we encourage all of our buyers to submit hip and elbow radiographs to OFA.
We are very hands-on with our Maremmas and socialize them with many ages and types of people as well as a wide variety of livestock and poultry on our farm. Throughout their first weeks with us, we learn a tremendous amount about each puppy’s unique personality.
In order to place our puppies in the most well-suited homes, we do our best to match each puppy with the best home possible. This process takes into account the temperament of each puppy, the experience and expectations of each potential home, as well as any other factors that we feel are relevant to ensuring a lifelong placement for our puppies.
If you would like to be considered for a puppy we have available, either currently or in the future, please complete the following questions as honestly and thoroughly as possible so we can get to know you and your expectations for one of our Maremma puppies. There are no wrong answers, and this application is a tool to help us match you with the right dog.
Completion of this application allows us to get to know you and learn about your expectations for a Livestock Guardian Dog. We do not guarantee that we will have a suitable puppy for you, but will do our best to match you with a puppy when we have the right one available. After we have reviewed your responses we will be in touch to answer any additional questions. Once we feel we will be able to match you with the right puppy, we will send you our puppy contract and request a non-refundable $500 reservation fee to hold a puppy. The balance of your puppy's price will be due by the day you pick up your puppy.
Our standard contract will require you to spay or neuter the puppy at an appropriate age. If you are interested in a puppy from us for potential breeding purposes, please complete this application and we will have an in-depth conversation about your plans and the suitability of our currently available puppies. Every buyer of our puppies must sign a contract that requires the puppy be returned to us in the event that rehoming becomes necessary in the future for any reason. This is at the expense of the buyer, unless otherwise negotiated.
We are always available to support new owners of our puppies and want to see each of them grow into the ideal guardian for their new family. We encourage you to reach out at any time with questions to ensure adding one of our Maremmas to your farm will meet your expectations.
Please be aware that our farm is located in Shelburne, Massachusetts and you will be responsible for picking up or arranging and paying for any transportation if the puppy will be shipped with a third party. We work with several transporters and are happy to share their contact information upon request.
