CRITERIA FOR A

GRANT EXTENSION

The following criteria must be met in order for MEA to consider a grant extension request:

This form is only for requesting changes to the scope of work in your original grant agreement; requests for more time to extend your project deadline require a Grant Extension.

An amendment request cannot be submitted after a grant deadline has lapsed. No exceptions;
Project scope must require a modification;

The requested change must be due to circumstances outside of the Grantee's control; OR the Grantee must demonstrate "good cause shown," i.e., demonstrate that the amendment request is justified and necessary for the successful completion of the project.;

Grantee must be able to enter into a formal amendment to the grant agreement to reflect the approved scope change; and

Approved amendments will not extend the project deadline; changes are limited to the scope of work.

The MEA Residential Energy Equity Program Manager(s) have full discretion to determine whether or not the reasons for the amendment are acceptable. Describe the reasons for the grant amendment request, being specific and concise. Demonstrate that the change in scope is due to circumstances beyond your control and provide good cause for the request. Justify why the amendment is necessary for the project’s successful completion.
