DNOW Volunteer Interest Form

THANK YOU for being willing to serve at DNOW 2026. DNOW is a time where we see students take their FIRST STEPS or NEXT STEPS in their relationship with Jesus. Please know you are more than a volunteer, you're a vital partner in ministry to these teenagers. Pray with us as we prepare for this awesome event.

If you have interest in helping teenagers hear about Jesus, please read over these job descriptions and pick which one you feel God leading you to. Our biggest need this year is HOST HOMES.

Job Descriptions

Host Home

YOUR HOME gets to be the hub for teenagers studying God's word!! How cool is that!? A student could get to know Christ for the first time in your living room!
Host Homes will need to:

• Provide sleeping space for a group of 6-8 students. All students will bring sleeping bags and pillows. They will arrive Friday night at 6:30 PM and they will be out of your house by 9:00 AM on Sunday Morning!
• Furnish a bed for the DNOW leader.
• Provide a meal for your DNOW leader on Friday night around 5:00 PM.
• Have a bathroom available for your group.
• Provide transportation for your group throughout the weekend. If that’s not possible, feel free to recruit friends to help drive! In some cases, we may also be able to provide a driver for you!
• Maintain discipline within your group when needed and make sure everyone goes to sleep at lights out. It’s EASY and we need you! Call Hayden to sign up or ask questions at 972-542-0041 or email him at hayden.gilliam@firstmckinney.com.

 

Cooking Coordinator

DNOW is November 19-22 and we're looking for Cooking Coordinators to provide two meals on Saturday, November 21 for one Host Home. Each meal will serve 6–8 teenagers plus the Host Home team. You can prepare the meals yourself or recruit a few friends to help!

• Provide BREAKFAST for about 9-11 people on Saturday, November 21 at 8:00 AM. We ask that it be a filling breakfast - examples include egg casserole, muffins, bacon, juice.
• LUNCH will need to be provided for the same group/host home on Saturday, November 21 at 12:30 PM. Aim for a hearty hot lunch - spaghetti, salad, bread, and dessert are perfect examples!
• We ask that you stay during the meal and help with cleanup for the Host Home. The Student Ministry will provide paper goods, so you can just focus on the meal!
• Please avoid using nuts or peanut butter in your cooking to keep everyone safe from allergies!

Small Group Leader

As a small group leader you will need to arrive at the church on Thursday, November 19 at 5:00 PM for your group reveal.

Friday November 20 Training:

• First time serving at DNOW with First McKinney: Arrive at 10:00 AM for training.
• Previously served at DNOW with First McKinney: Arrive at 11:30 AM training.

You can expect to head home on Sunday, November 22 at noon. An optional leader lunch will be held following the service as a thank-you for serving with us throughout the weekend!

 

Team Player

As a team player, you are willing to jump in and help wherever needed throughout the weekend. This could include driving a group, helping set up for the next event, or assisting with other needs as they arise.
