  • Free Maine Community College!

Boothbay Region High School graduates (or recent students who earned the equivalent of a high school diploma, such as a GED or HiSET) can attend Maine community colleges tuition-free. If you live in Maine, you earned a high school diploma or its equivalent between 2023 - 2025: Scholarship available up to 200% of program completion time. (Four years available for a two-year program.), you qualify for the scholarship. For the class of 2026 grads and beyond: Scholarship available for up to 150% of program completion time. (Three years available for a two-year program.) Part-time is OK! There are no income or age limits. You need to live in Maine a full year immediately prior to admission and while enrolled, pursue a degree or certificate program and accept any state or federal aid you qualify for before the scholarship is applied. Note that it does not cover books and supplies, housing, transportation, or other additional non‐mandatory fees. A BRSAF grant may be able to help with this unmet need. Information about Maine's free community college program and eligibility can be found at https://www.mccs.me.edu/freecollege/.
