  • ICJA is accepting nominations for the 2026 Annual Awards Luncheon. We encourage you to submit your nominations to recognize your contemporaries who lead our organization and the field of community corrections. These are the awards open for nominations:

  • Margaret Mead Award

    Recognizing an individual who has demonstrated leadership in the field of community corrections through guidance, innovative ideas, influence of policy and/or dedicated service to the ideals and goals of community-based correctional programming. This award is considered to be the highest honor presented by the Association.
     
    Criteria:
    - Any individual in the international community
    - Premier leadership, achievements, or service
    - National or international impact or recognition

  • Emerging Leader Award 
    The Emerging Leader Award recognizes an individual that has made significant contributions to the International Community Justice Association (ICJA) and/or to the community corrections profession and has demonstrated the potential for leadership and continuing service. ICJA will solicit nominations for the award prior to the annual conference and should include evidence supporting the nominee has met the criteria outlined below. 
     
    Criteria:- Member in good standing of ICJA
    - In their first 10 years of community corrections/reentry experience
    - Have made a significant contribution to ICJA and/or the profession. Specific examples of their significant contribution must be provided
    - Have demonstrated outstanding promise for continuing service and leadership qualities including: ambition, integrity, effective communication skills, problem solver, visionary and passion. Specific examples of their continuing service and leadership qualities must be provided

  • Arthur McDonald Leadership and Service Award Recognizing individual (s) who have demonstrated a commitment to community-based corrections and who utilize the Association as a vehicle to support their goals. 
     
    Criteria:
    - ICJA Member
    - 2 years of service in community-based corrections
    - Demonstrated commitment and/or assistance to ICJA through significant involvement with the Association on committees, conference planning, assistance to the Board or Executive Director and/or faithful support of the Association

  • David Dillingham Public Service Award 
     
    Recognizing an individual who has demonstrated "Quiet Leadership"" in community corrections as exemplified by the lifelong work of David Dillingham. The award is presented to a career public service professional who quietly provides leadership, direction and steady influence in moving his or her public agency towards evidenced-informed practices.
     
    Criteria:
    - Public Servant
    - Quiet and steady leader; county, state, provincial, national
    - Community corrections background
    - Supporter of evidence-based practices

  • Judicial Award
    The Judicial Award is presented to an active or retired judiciary practitioner who promotes and furthers the cause of community corrections through active support and leadership in community correctional programming.
     
    Criteria:
    - Current or Retired Judiciary Practitioner
    - Recogized supporter of community-based services 
    - Supporter of evidence-informed practices

  • J. Bryan Riley Meritorious Service Award Recognizing an individual whose work exemplifies the ideals of ICJA and who have delivered outstanding service to community corrections.  
     
    Criteria:
    - ICJA member
    - 2 years of service in community-based corrections
    - Documented achievements

  • Charlie Flowers Corporate Partnership Award Recognizing an individual or organization which has demonstrated a strong spirit of support for and collaboration with ICJA as exemplified by the friendship and personal involvement of Charlie Flowers, who was Vice President of Teletrust, Inc. The award is presented to a corporate entity or its representative pursuing a mission consonant with that of ICJA and creating a special bond of mutual friendship with ICJA. 
     
    Criteria:
    - Corporate Member of ICJA
    - Demonstrates active and ongoing interest in the work of ICJA
    - Provides goods and/or services of genuine value to the community corrections field
    - Demonstrates personal investment in the Association

  • ICJA Mission Award
     
    This award, which was introduced in 2023, recognizes an individual or business that has put the ICJA Mission into practice. In developing this award, ICJA leadership was inspired by several businesses that are going above and beyond to create second chances for justice-involved individuals in their community. 

    Criteria: Person or business that demonstrates promoting public safety through evidence-informed practices for justice-involved individuals through collaborative community-based treatment services, research and advocacy.
