Norton Youth Wrestling Registration

Hello Parents!

Thank you for taking the opportunity to sign your child up for the youth wrestling program!  The program has a strong and rich tradition in the Norton community and we look forward to continuing that with another successful season.  We are excited to work with your child and watch them grow in the great sport of wrestling.

Cost:  $130 for 1st wrestler; $80 for any additional wrestler

          $85 for Little Panthers (minimum 5 years old) – Coaches decision on competition.  ***Parents of 5 year olds are required to help coach at practice.

 

You can pay registration fees during the first week of practice, at in-person sign-ups, or online through the Registration Payment Portal. Once you submit this form, a payment QR code will appear on your screen for online payment. There shouldn’t be any additional fees, but the system may ask you to “contribute” — feel free to select “Other” and enter zero. It won’t hurt the program, and it will save you a couple bucks.

Communication:  We used the "Band" App to send out updates and info please search for Norton Youth Wrestling and join our band.

Grades:          K-6th grade

We have limited pairs of shoes and headgear for use.  If we do not have your size the wrestler will need to purchase prior to first practice.

Singlets and shorts will be given out to each wrestler prior to their first match.  We will ask for a deposit on those items to make sure they are returned at the end of the season.  Each wrestler will receive a team shirt as part of their uniform to keep.

Practice Schedule: 1st Practice on Monday, November 2nd @ 6pm.   Practices will be held at the Doug Turchin Wrestling Room (Norton Middle School).  (If the youth football season is still going on at that point then football kids can join once their season is finished.)

Varsity: Monday & Wednesday 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

All Stars:  Monday & Wednesday 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Little Panthers: (6 years and younger) Monday & Wednesday 6:00 – 7:15 p.m.

Matches:  League matches are held on Sundays at Coventry High School.  Dates still to be determined.  We will potentially schedule one off matches with teams as they become available.  

                 

Please make checks payable to Norton Wrestling Club.  Checks or Cash can be turned in during in person sign ups and/or before the first practice.

Activity Waiver Form

THIS ACTIVITY WAIVER FORM (this "Waiver") covers the 2025 - 2026 wrestling season.

IN CONSIDERATION of being allowed to participate in the Activity and other good and valuable consideration, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I (the "Legal Guardian"), agree on behalf of my child (the "Participant") with Norton Youth Wrestling of Norton, OH 44203 (the "Activity Provider") to the following:

DETAILS OF ACTIVITY

The Participant will be participating in the following activity: Youth Wrestling (the "Activity") provided by the Activity Provider.

CONSIDERATION

Being the lawful guardian of the Participant, and in consideration of the Participant being permitted to participate in the Activity, on behalf of the Participant the Legal Guardian releases and forever discharges the Activity Provider, its owners, directors, officers, employees, agents, assigns, legal representatives, and successors from all manner of actions, causes of action, debts, accounts, bonds, contracts, claims, and demands for or by reason of any injury to person or property, including injury resulting in the death of the Participant, which has been or may be sustained as a consequence of the Participant's participation in the Activity, and not withstanding that such damage, loss, or injury may have been caused solely or partly by the negligence of the Activity Provider.

The Legal Guardian understands that the Participant would not be permitted to participate in the Activity unless the Legal Guardian signed this Waiver.

CONCURRENT RELEASE

The Legal Guardian acknowledges that this Waiver is given with the express intention of effecting the extinguishment of certain obligations owed to the Participant by the Activity Provider, and with the intention of binding the Participant's heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, and assigns.

FITNESS TO PARTICIPATE

The Legal Guardian acknowledges to the Activity Provider that the Participant does not have any physical limitations, medical ailments, or physical or mental disabilities that would limit or prevent the Participant from participating in the Activity. If required, the Participant will obtain a medical examination and clearance.

FULL AND FINAL SETTLEMENT

The Legal Guardian acknowledges and agrees with the Activity Provider that: (1) the Activity Provider has given the Legal Guardian sufficient time to carefully read this Waiver, (2) the Legal Guardian has been given the opportunity and has been encouraged to seek independent legal advice prior to signing this Waiver, (3) the Legal Guardian fully understands the risks and claims that the Participant is waiving to participate in the Activity, (4) the Legal Guardian is freely and voluntarily executing this Waiver, and (5) the Participant is forever prevented from suing or otherwise claiming against the Activity Provider for any property loss or personal injury that the Participant may sustain while participating in or preparing for the Activity.

GOVERNING LAW

This Waiver will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio.
