Learn to Skate Program

Fall 2025 Session
Dates: Mondays from 4:15 to 5 p.m. - Running Oct. 20 to Dec. 8, 2025

Location: Swan River Centennial Arena

Coaches: Lead by a certified skating coach with the assistance of Swan Valley Junior A Stampeders players

Ages: Open to all youth born in 2021 and older.

The eight week progam will see children grouped by ability, learning and developing skills through a structured program. These skills include:
- Forward skating
- Backward skating
- Stopping
- Edges
- Gliding
Each session will include:
- Warmup
- 3 stations for youth to rotate through
  - Lesson Station
  - Circut Station
  - Fun Station
- Full group activity
- Cool down/free time
Youth are required to wear a proper fitting CSA approved helmet. It is recommended that they also have a face shield/cage. Bike helmets are not allowed and you child will not be allowed on the ice if wearing one.

Lace up skates are strongly recommended.
