  • Westlake Instrumental Programme

    The premiere instrumental ensembles - Westlake Concert Band, Westlake Big Band, Westlake Symphony Orchestra and Westlake Chamber Orchestra - have already been created for 2026 as they are preparing for an overseas tour. All others players will be invited to join the development ensembles below. There is a place for everyone.

  • Bands Audition Information

    Auditions for present and future band players will be held on Thursday 23 October, at the Music Department at Westlake Girls High School. Please book a 10 minute audition time slot below. Please ensure that you arrive 15 minutes before your audition time. You will sign in with our Music Administrator, Ms Lui, and then warm up before being called into the audition room. Please note that students must audition on their own. Friends and parents will be asked to wait outside.

    If you are auditioning for Flute Choir only, please prepare the Symphonic Band flute audition material.

    If you are auditioning for BOTH Jazz Band and Symphonic Band, you only need to prepare Jazz Band material.

  • String Auditions Information

    Auditions for present and future string players will be held on Friday 24 October, at the Music Department at Westlake Girls High School. Please book a 10 minute audition time slot below. Please ensure that you arrive 15 minutes before your audition time. You will sign in with our Music Administrator, Ms Lui, and then warm up before being called into the audition room. Please note that students must audition on their own. Friends and parents will be asked to wait outside.

  • Your 10 minute audition will involve:

    1. Playing the set scales
    2. Playing the test excerpt(s)
    3. Playing a piece of your choice (please play an excerpt no more than 2 minutes)
