The Louisiana Department of Education is proud to introduce the SY25–26 Strategic Scheduling Series, a set of professional learning opportunities designed to help principals and system leaders strengthen one of the most powerful levers for student success: the school schedule. Over the past several years, Louisiana leaders have shared what works, where challenges remain, and how scheduling decisions can either accelerate or limit a school’s goals.
This new series builds on that momentum with a mix of role-specific trainings and hands-on workshops. The sessions are generally designed as standalone experiences that participants can opt into based on their needs and interests.
Whether attending one session or several, school and system leaders will gain actionable strategies, practical tools, and the confidence to design schedules that maximize instructional time, support teachers, and set students up for success.
The series will include the following sessions you are eligible to sign up for throughout the 2025–2026 school year:
- Strategic Schedules Mini-Series for School System Leaders
Two 60-minute virtual sessions for each grade level
- Elementary: Nov 10 & Dec 8 at 1:00pm
- Middle: Nov 13 & Dec 10 at 1:00pm
- High: Nov 14 & Dec 11 at 1:00pm
- Schedule Building Bootcamp Experience for School-Based Teams
Mix of two virtual sessions and one in-person session
- Elementary: Virtually Mar 31 & May 5 at 1:00pm, In-Person April 14
- Middle: Virtually Feb 24 & Apr 2 at 1:00pm, In-Person Mar 3
- High: Virtually Jan 14 & Feb 11 at 1:00pm, In-Person Jan 27
- Technical Scheduling for School Schedulers
One 60-minute session for each grade level
- Elementary: Apr 21 at 1:00pm
- Secondary: Mar 11 at 1:00pm
