  • Who, What & How Much

    • Individuals and businesses may apply for up to $1000.
    • Not-For Profit community groups (Incorporated Associations) and Council entities may apply for up to $3000.

    If you are applying as a Local Government Authority or Council committee or facility (museum, gallery etc), put both your group's name PLUS the Council's name in the Applicant Organisation box. 

    If your associaton is separate from Council and operates on land or in a building owned by Council, then complete this application as a Not For Profit Incorporated Association. Check the Guidelines and FAQs for more information.

    Unincorporated Associations may also apply, but must have an auspicor. See the Guidelines for more information. You may be a GROUP, COLLECTIVE or BAND, a creative partnership, a collaborative arts posse, an ensemble or other unincorporated group. You will require a Nominated Funds Administrator/Auspicor.

    For Groups or Collectives who are unincorporated.
  • If your organisation type is a collective or group (an unincorporated association, collaboration or ensemble without an ABN or public liability insurance) you must nominate a legally constituted body (with both an ABN and public liability insurance) to administer your grant if one is awarded.

    A Nominated Funds Administrator is also sometimes called an Auspicing Body or Auspicor.

    Assessors take into account the viability and experience of applicants, and the quality of work to be delivered.

    We will not review your grant application if you have not discussed your project with a member of staff at AUH.
  • You MUST discuss your grant application with an AUH member of staff before you submit. You won't be eligible if you don't.

  • Not eligible to apply.

    Unfortunately, you are not eligible to apply. This could be because:

    • you are not based in the Arts Upper Hunter region (the LGAs of Dungog, Muswellbrook, Singleton or Upper Hunter).
    • you are not an eligible entity (eligible entities include incorporated association, unincorporated group with an auspicor, individual, business, council entity).

    If you are not based in one of ourLGAs, you can visit the Regional Arts NSW website to find your own Regional Arts Development Organisation. There are 15, and they cover almost all of Regional NSW.

    If you are an ineligible entity, try contacting the Executive Director of Arts Upper Hunter, John O'Brien to discuss your situation.

  • Before you can complete and submit an application you must accept the following conditions by declaring:

    I certify that:

    Authority: If the applicant is a group, I have the authority to complete and submit this application on the group’s behalf.
    Valid information: All information supplied as part of this application will be true and accurate to the best of my knowledge.
    Legislative requirements: All activities proposed by this application will be conducted in accordance with current legislation, including but not limited to, complying with Working with Children legislation.


    I acknowledge that:

    Deadline: Application and any additional materials cannot be submitted after 5pm on the advertised closing date.
    Investigation: Arts Upper Hunter and Create NSW have the right to investigate any information provided in this application and/or to request additional information
    Errors and Omissions: It is solely my responsibility to ensure my application is correct and complete before submitting. Arts Upper Hunter does not check, amend or update applications. Applications cannot be modified after being submitted.
    Support: Arts Upper Hunter staff are available 9am-5pm Monday to Friday during the grant round to provide technical and general guideline advice. Staff are not able to provide advice on content or choices required within my application.
    False declarations: Arts Upper Hunter has the right to withdraw any offer of funding or demand the return of funds already paid if my declaration is found to be incorrect or misleading.
