Requirements:
- Must be a youth leader with a proven changemaking record, to help drive the direction and advise the State of Youth.
- Record should include a passion for the mission of State of Youth, including SDGs, children’s rights, local media outreach, and other advocacy activities.
- Must be State of Youth Chapter Leaders.
- Must be between the ages of 13 and 26 years old.
- Must be available for a minimum of 2 hours per week, including two hours per month for an online conference call meeting.
- Excellent English skills (both written and spoken).
- Motivated and committed team players.
- Good communication skills and responsive.
Activities of the Youth Board
To fulfil the mission of the Youth Board, the Youth Board carries out certain activities regularly.
Youth-led advisory role for State of Youth
Key activities:
- Regular online meetings and discussions on State of Youth
- Communication and engagement with State of Youth changemakers and chapter leaders.
- Knowledge-sharing on best practice to inform strategy and activities
- Leading on outreach and communication for State of Youth
Capacity-building within State of Youth
Key activities:
- Developing and leading capacity-building initiatives for changemakers and chapter-leaders.
- Understanding capacity-building needs within State of Youth
- Attending capacity-building trainings that enhance knowledge and skills to contribute to State of Youth.
- Making plans for capacity-building initiatives for State of Youth members.
Representing State of Youth externally
Key activities:
- Youth Board members attend conferences or events on behalf of State of Youth.
- Search for events in their region to attend, detailing the benefits to State of Youth for attending them, and the value they would bring to State of Youth.
- Attend events as a representative, speaking and promoting State of Youth.
