  • 2026 Israel Teen Travel Grant Application

    Jewish Federation is committed to inspiring the next generation to embrace Jewish life by connecting Jews in the heart of NJ with the land and people of Israel. Visiting Israel during the formative teen years can ignite feelings of belonging like no other experience. To make Israel travel for teens more affordable, Jewish Federation awards $1000 grants to eligible teens.
  • Eligibility Requirements

  • Please read carefully:

    1. Scholarship recipients will reside in Middlesex or Monmouth County, entering 9th – 12th grade, and will be eligible to receive this scholarship one time only.
    2. Eligible programs are tuition-based, organized Zionist youth trips to Israel, at least 3 weeks long, that may include visits to other countries such as Eastern Europe. (Length of trip requirement does not apply to students registered for International March of the Living)
    3. Families raising Jewish children are eligible to apply.
    4. Scholarship recipients agree to ALL requirements mentioned in the "teen personal commitment for Federation grant" section below.
    5. A refundable deposit of $250 must be submitted upon completion of the application.
    6. If a scholarship is awarded, payment is made directly to the program provider.
    7. Recipients traveling during the summer may also apply for The Anne and Herbert Goldstein Fund for Summer Youth Travel, an additional $1,000 competitive grant (See BELOW).
    8. Priority will be given to applicants who have never been to Israel on an educational trip and/or lived in Israel past the age of 12.  


    *What is the deposit for:

    • We ask you for a deposit because we want to make sure the participant is committed to "tikkun olam" (repair the world) by fulfilling the mentioned requirements.
    • The deposit will be refunded after the participant fulfills all the requirements mentioned in the "teen personal commitment for Federation grant" section below.
    • The deposit will also be refunded in case of trip cancellation initiated by the participant, organizer, or for any other reason.
    • Pay it forward: you can choose to donate your refundable $250 deposit to help others experience Israel.
    • Options on how to pay the deposit are included in the confirmation email.

    The Anne and Herbert Goldstein Fund for Summer Youth Travel is an optional, additional$1,000 competitive grant. Through this fund, the Goldstein’s legacy of love for Israel will continue to enhance young lives, providing teens with the chance to further connect with their heritage, develop a deeper pride in their Judaism and strengthen their bond with Israel. Please include an additional essay stating why you should receive this grant.

  • Teen Personal Commitment for Federation Grant

  • In accepting the support of my community to help pay for my trip to Israel, I agree to:

    1. Attend a pre-trip session facilitated by Jewish Federation. (If relevant, details will be provided).
    2. Perform local community service. (Relevant details will be provided).
    3. Participate in ONE phonathon along with at least one parent/guardian and help the Federation raise money for grants, teen programs, and much more, by making phone calls to donors (training will be provided).
    4. Share my experience with the community by uploading a real-time video from Israel or submitting a video or written reflection within 14 days upon return from my trip. Please thank Jewish Federation in the Heart of NJ in your video or written submission. (Upload location will be provided).
    5. Strengthen my knowledge and understanding of my Jewish heritage.
    6. Behave in a manner that reflects positively on my home community.
