----------------------------------------------------
Appointments, Quotes & Service Area
All estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued and are subject to change due to material availability or market conditions.
Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a $50 fee. Please allow a 15–30 minute arrival window for mobile service.
A travel fee may apply for service outside Kuna, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Boise, and Eagle. Please contact us to confirm pricing.
Severe weather, unsafe conditions, or material shortages may delay or require rescheduling of service. Safety is always the priority.
Shields Auto Glass reserves the right to refuse service, including warranty service, at our discretion for any reason, including but not limited to safety concerns, location accessibility, or customer behavior.
Vehicle Access & Customer Responsibilities
The customer must provide a safe, flat work area with at least 5 feet of clearance on all sides of the vehicle.
The vehicle must be unlocked and cleared of personal items before service begins. If access is not available, the appointment may be canceled and a service fee may apply.
During cold weather months, the customer is responsible for ensuring the vehicle is kept in a garage or adequately warmed up prior to technician arrival. Cold glass and vehicle surfaces can affect installation quality and safety. Shields Auto Glass reserves the right to delay or reschedule service if vehicle temperature conditions are not suitable at the time of arrival.
The customer agrees to disclose any prior damage, previous repairs, aftermarket modifications, or known issuesbefore work begins.
Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for damage to brittle, aged, or pre-existing components, including trim, clips, moldings, cowling pieces, or fasteners that may fail during normal handling.
For remove-and-reinstall (R&R) services, Shields Auto Glass is not responsible if the existing glass cracks or breaks during or after removal.
Customer Property & Liability
Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for personal items left inside the vehicle, nor for resetting radios, cameras, sensors, mirrors, or vehicle settings after service.
Liability for any claim shall not exceed the cost of the service performed. Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for indirect or consequential damages, including rental vehicles, lost wages, downtime, or loss of use.
Stickers, Permits & Decals
Shields Auto Glass cannot guarantee the removal or preservation of windshield stickers, including parking permits, toll passes, car wash tags, inspection stickers, or membership decals.
Stickers may not remain intact, readable, reusable, or adhesive after removal.
Customer-Provided Glass & Parts
Shields Auto Glass cannot guarantee the quality, fit, performance, or safety of customer-provided glass or parts.
No warranty is offered on customer-supplied components. Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for defects, failures, leaks, noise, or safety issues related to customer-provided materials.
Rear-View Mirror Electronics
Some rear-view mirrors contain electronic components such as auto-dimming features, temperature sensors, cameras, compass modules, or garage door controls.
Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for electronic mirror functions that fail due to age, wear, or pre-existing conditions.
Accessories Attached to the Glass
Accessories attached to the glass—including dash cam mounts, wiring, tint strips, transponders, GPS units, radar detectors, or adhesive-mounted items—may need to be removed during service.
Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for accessories that cannot be reattached, do not function properly, or do not adhere the same after removal.
Glass Quality & Manufacturer Standards
Minor optical distortions, waves, blemishes, or manufacturing imperfections may occur and are considered acceptable within industry standards.
Sudden temperature changes, road conditions, or vehicle stress may cause cracks unrelated to installation or repair.
Insurance Coverage Disclaimer
Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for insurance claim denials, delays, coverage limitations, or deductible disputes.
Customers are responsible for verifying insurance coverage and deductible amounts prior to scheduling service.
Authorized Representative & Third-Party Responsibility
If service is scheduled by a fleet manager, dealership, rental company, family member, or other third party, that individual is responsible for authorization accuracy, communication, and payment.
ROCK CHIP REPAIR TERMS
------------------------------
Rock Chip Repair Information
Rock chip repairs are performed to help reduce the risk of spreading, but the damage will remain visible after repair.
There is no guarantee that a repair will stop a crack from spreading during or after service. If the damage spreads or the windshield fails, Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for replacement costs.
Chips or cracks near the edge of the windshield or larger than a quarter have a lower likelihood of success.
Rock chip repairs are not covered under the lifetime workmanship warranty and are not recommended if the damage is in the driver’s direct line of sight.
Rock Chip Repair Pricing
Rock chip repairs smaller than the size of a quarter are priced at $45 total per chip.
For chips larger than a quarter, or damage with a higher risk of spreading, the repair fee is $65, with no guarantee that the repair will hold.
If damage is deemed unsuitable for repair, windshield replacement may be recommended.
WINDSHIELD OR OTHER GLASS REPLACEMENT TERMS
-------------------------------------------------------------
Pricing & Vehicle Variability
Pricing varies based on vehicle year, make, model, glass type, and glass location, including windshields, door glass, back glass, vent glass, quarter glass, or other automotive glass components.
Quoted pricing applies only to the specific vehicle and glass identified at the time of the estimate. If incorrect or incomplete vehicle information is provided, pricing may change prior to or at the time of service. Any price changes will be communicated before work begins.
Calibration & Diagnostics Disclaimer
(Applies to Windshield Replacements Only)
Shields Auto Glass does not perform ADAS calibrations.
Some vehicles require calibration after windshield replacement to restore systems such as lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, or forward-collision alerts.
If required calibration is not completed, certain safety features may not function correctly. The customer is responsible for determining whether calibration is required and for ensuring it is completed.
Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for diagnostic lights, warning messages, recalibration needs, or system malfunctions caused by unperformed or delayed calibration.
Third-Party Calibration Notice
When calibration is required, Shields Auto Glass may provide contact information for a third-party calibration provider as a courtesy.
The customer is solely responsible for:
Scheduling calibration
Payment for calibration services
Ensuring calibration is completed
Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for third-party calibration outcomes, delays, or costs.
Workmanship Warranty
Shields Auto Glass provides a lifetime warranty on workmanship for windshield or other glass replacements. This warranty applies only to installation-related leaks, wind noise, or adhesive failures caused by our work.
This warranty does not cover:
Rust or corrosion
Prior poor installations
Body or structural damage
Failure to follow aftercare instructions
Rock chips or road damage after installation
Stress cracks caused by temperature changes
Glass breakage caused by impact after installation
Installation Safety & Aftercare
After glass replacement, the vehicle must remain parked for at least 1 hour to allow safe drive-away time.
Any tape applied during installation must remain in place for 24 hours to allow proper adhesive curing. Paint-safe tape is used, but lifting may occur on rusted, aged, or oxidized paint.
Avoid automated or power car washes for 7 days following replacement.
Rust, Corrosion & Structural Condition Notice
Vehicles with rust, corrosion, structural damage, or prior repairs to the glass frame may not allow a proper seal.
Primer may be applied to improve adhesion but does not remove rust or guarantee leak prevention. Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for leaks, noise, or fitment issues caused by rust, corrosion, or prior installation issues.
Cowling, Trim, Clips & Rubber Condition
Cowling panels, trim, rubber seals, clips, moldings, and fasteners may become brittle due to age, heat, or previous repairs.
Shields Auto Glass is not responsible for components that crack, warp, loosen, or fail due to their condition.
Some components may not sit perfectly flush due to design limitations or prior wear. Rubber material may hang or sit unevenly on older vehicles.
Technicians may trim excess rubber for appearance unless the customer requests otherwise prior to service.
