The holiday season can be challenging for many families in our local community who may not be able to afford food or gifts for their children. United Way hosts the Adopt-a-Family program with Clarksville Fire Rescue to brighten their holidays and provide much-needed assistance. Through the program, workplaces, families, groups, or individuals can adopt a family in need for the holidays.
Both adults and children in need are accepted as participants, so a “family” can be a veteran, elderly adult, or parent(s)/guardian(s) with children living in the same household. If desired, sponsors will have the opportunity to meet their adopted family at United Way’s office and present them with their gifts at the family's appointment for pickup. Otherwise, all parties remain anonymous with only the first name of each family member provided to sponsors for the purpose of labelling gifts.
By adopting a family, sponsors can provide items such as gift cards, clothes, shoes, toiletries, food, household items and gifts on each family’s wish list. Monetary donations other than gift cards cannot be accepted. What you give is up to you, we only ask that you follow the requirements listed below.
